Aches and Pains bye bye… YOGA BASIC classes designed to empower students to learn to live better in their bodies, relieving aches and pains and creating a strong foundation so your body is healthy for years to come. Tuning-In to your body utilizing traditional yoga, breathing techniques, self massage, corrective exercise and functional movement. A challenging yet approachable class open to the beginner as well as the advanced mover. Bring a mat and open mind!

Yoga Basics is the perfect class to balance our bodies alignment in a gently and easy way. Yoga begins where I am. Not where I was yesterday or where I long to be. We meet ourselves in the moment and from there we feel small shifts as things begin to change. Tuning ourselves up from the inside out! Through a blend of basic Hatha Yoga, breath work, mindfulness, functional movement and self massage we will find ourselves with better balance, strength, flexibility and resiliency. Not to mention the added bonus of, balanced mind and a more blissful state of being. Accepting ourselves with kindness and compassion we learn ways to break down postures and make modifications to fit our bodies needs in each pose. All that’s needed is an open mind and a kind heart.

Building resilience isn’t pretty. It’s messy, hard, and it relies on learning how to tolerate frustration.

Frustration tolerance is one of life’s most essential skills. The more we can tolerate frustration, the more we can learn, the more we can struggle, the more we can take on challenges, the more we can bounce back from failure.

I talk to parents from all around the globe and they all want the same thing for their kids - they want their kids to be gritty and to take on challenges and to not give up when things get hard! And what I want parents to know that kids aren’t inherently born with the ability to do any of these things - but they can learn the skill that enables them to do all of them.

That skill? Frustration tolerance.

And if you’re thinking about how hard it is for us, as adults, to tolerate frustration… I’m right there with you. It’s more natural to look for a quick exit from our distress or a quick rescue from our struggle or a quick “quit” around our latest challenge.

Here’s the good news: we can learn, frustration tolerance skills too! It’s never too late.
