James “Jimmy” Robert Smith, 57, of Newington, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by his family. A lifelong Hartford resident, Jimmy dedicated his career to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, where he was known for his strong work ethic and close bonds with colleagues.

He enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, and was a devoted Star Trek fan. Proud of his Irish heritage, he especially loved attending the Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Jimmy will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.

We are saddened to share the passing of Dolores “Dory” Ann MacDowell, 79, of Bloomfield, formerly of Wethersfield, who passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

Dory dedicated over 30 years of her life as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital. She will be remembered for her compassion, devotion to her family, and the care she gave to so many throughout her career.

Dory also found joy in travel, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and her love of dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Robert “Bob” Joseph Meredith, 60, of Wethersfield, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026. Bob dedicated his career to public service with the State of Connecticut, serving as a Public Defender.

A devoted father, Bob’s greatest joy was his children, Alexandra and Joseph. He will be remembered for his deep faith, his dedication to helping others, and his love for family and friends.

We are saddened to share the passing of Roy Joseph Demma Sr., 93, a lifelong resident of Berlin, Connecticut.

Roy was a devoted family man who found great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for his strength, kindness, generous heart, and warm smile, he touched the lives of many throughout his years.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born in Sicily, Concetta devoted her life to family, faith, and tradition. Known for her generous heart and unforgettable home-cooked meals, she was the true matriarch of her family and the heart of every gathering.

Her legacy of love lives on through generations who knew her lovingly as “Nonna.”

With heartfelt sympathy we share the passing of Carolina (Ricci) Buonacquisto, 89, of Hartford, who passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fontechiari, province of Frasinone, Italy, Carolina devoted her life to her family and was known for her kind and caring presence at Ellis Manor, where she worked for many years.
