Born in Sicily, Concetta devoted her life to family, faith, and tradition. Known for her generous heart and unforgettable home-cooked meals, she was the true matriarch of her family and the heart of every gathering.

Her legacy of love lives on through generations who knew her lovingly as “Nonna.”

Born in Fontechiari, province of Frasinone, Italy, Carolina devoted her life to her family and was known for her kind and caring presence at Ellis Manor, where she worked for many years.

We are saddened to share the passing of Maria Emilia (Ferreira) Salgado, 82, of Hartford, who passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in Portugal, Maria came to the U.S. in 1971 and devoted her life to her family, faith, and home. She will be deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Sergio and Heather Salgado, and her beloved grandsons, Jason and Jeremy.

Services will be held Thursday, January 22.

We regretfully announce the passing of Florentino Rivera-Caraballo, age 85, of East Hartford, on December 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a proud Puerto Rican who shared his love of music, faith, and family with all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 30th from 11:00–12:00 p.m. at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield, followed by a service at 12:00 p.m.
