💙 Popcorn, Pinwheels, and Prevention! 💙

A meaningful kickoff to Child Abuse Prevention Month is happening this Friday in Elmore County, bringing the community together to raise awareness and support local children and families.

“Pinwheels and Popcorn” will feature spinning pinwheels, a symbol of the bright, safe, and happy childhood every child deserves, along with an opportunity to connect with organizations dedicated to protecting and uplifting youth.

At Wetumpka Pediatrics, our hearts are especially with our little ones. During Poison Prevention Week, we want to remind families how important it is to keep children safe from everyday hazards at home.

Many common household items—like medications, cleaning supplies, and even vitamins—can be dangerous if accidentally ingested.

👶 Simple ways to protect your children:
• Keep medicines and vitamins locked up and out of reach
• Store cleaning products in their original containers
• Never refer to medicine as “candy”
• Use child-resistant packaging properly
• Keep purses and bags (that may contain meds) away from children
