Doula Cheyenne birth doula + photographer

Here we grow again! Help us give a warm welcome to Cheyenne! Cheyenne is a birth doula and photographer from Baden, PA. Lily served Cheyenne as her doula for her first son’s birth! Cheyenne’s passion for pregnancy and birth was so apparent and only grew postpartum, she took a training shortly after her son was born and grew her experience attending births. Lily welcomed her at her own birth this past June as her birth photographer alongside Doula Lisa! We are so excited to have her join our team, it feels so full circle and like the perfect fit, we couldn’t be more excited ❤️❤️

it’s been a while since i’ve introduced myself & i see lots of new faces following me so let’s do this!

hi, i’m cheyenne!

my friends call me chey, my best friend calls me mama. 🩵

i live in baden with my fiancé and my sweet toddler. i am a pittsburgh girl born and raised, a bit crunchy- i always wanted the more natural route for myself whether it was solving a sore throat with a hot cup of tea, or looking into the midwife center when i became pregnant. i became a boy mom in 2021 and everything changed for me. with the support of a doula, i discovered first hand how pivotal birth can be, it truly impacted every aspect of my life, from the relationship i have with myself- to the relationship I have with my body, my son, and my partner.

i became obsessed with all things birth and pregnancy while pregnant, and delivery just re-affirmed this passion. i am truly here to make a difference, and i believe everyone deserves a beautiful and empowering birth, no matter what turn it may take. ✨

i am currently serving pittsburgh families and families to be within a hour range of baden, pa.

truly one i’ll never take for granted 🙏🏼

more client love 💛

this one made me tear up. 🥺

“When deciding to have a doula for my second pregnancy, I was extremely hesitant as my last doula experience left much to be desired, but having Cheyenne as my doula this pregnancy was one of the best decisions I made! During my pregnancy, Cheyenne and I spoke often - she would reach out to check on me, ask about my prenatal appointments, answer questions I had, share wisdom on decisions we had to make, and helped me walk through the unresolved trauma I experienced during my first birth. Cheyenne always brought so much peace, compassion, and a genuine concern to each and every conversation we had. I felt like I was talking to someone I had known my whole life, though I still hadn’t met her in person at this point. I actually met Cheyenne in person when she walked into my hospital room. I had been communicating with her throughout the day of laboring then going into triage and finally landing on the decision to veer from our planned VBAC and have a repeat c-section. She was reassuring of the decision and reminded me that just because I wasn’t getting the VBAC I had hoped for that this birth could still be beautiful. When she arrived at the hospital that same peace, compassion, and genuine concern shown through. After we updated her, we spoke about the desires I had to make this c-section the best possible experience, an experience that would bring healing from the past trauma I faced. She spoke up on our behalf when needed, she really put such an effort into making sure we got everything, within reason, that we desired for my c-section. In the OR, Cheyenne shared in our excitement to welcome our baby boy into the world and was very encouraging through it all - I remember hearing her sweet words when my eyes were closed at times and just feeling comforted that she was there. Once in the postpartum phase of my journey, Cheyenne continued to reach out, offering anything she could to help through our transition from one to two and all the ups and downs of having a new baby. The postpartum period can be really tough and Cheyenne made sure to be available when needed. She’s answered many questions, talked me through some difficult moments, and has truly just become a life long friend that I know I can count on to love and support me through anything. You have a doula for a season, but Cheyenne has become much more than that for me, she’s become an amazing friend - her heart is one of a kind, it overflows with love for the mommas she’s serving, she brings a gentleness into even the toughest situations, she has such a peace about her that can calm a whole OR, and I’m truly blessed to know her and cannot imagine doing this birth without her.” - Kayla Sullivan

what is a doula?

this is a question I get often… a birth doula is a companion who supports a birthing person during pregnancy, labor and birth. birth doulas are trained to provide continuous, one-on-one care, as well as information, physical support, and emotional support to birthing persons and their partners.

as your birth doula, i will provide you with emotional support during your pregnancy and labor, to make you feel supported and safe. i will also help educate you about the birthing and laboring experience so that you can create the best birth plan for you! ✨

What a special look of trust and excitement as they wait to see baby! 🤍

CLIENT TESTIMONY:

“Having Cheyenne as a doula was the best thing I ever did for my self during pregnancy and at birth. The support from her helped me all through pregnancy and she answered every question I had and was the best support system. I had alot of scares during this pregnancy and she was right there by my side through it all. She calmed me and gave me the comfort and strength I needed. During birth she again was the calmness and comfort I needed. For both me and my husband. I felt confident with her knowledge to talk to the doctors and nurses for me when I was in too much pain. And she fought for me and what I wanted when I felt too weak. And even after birth she supported me during postpartum. Soo grateful for her. - Chelsea”

birth planning is a beautiful way to envision your journey and communicate your preferences.

the process of creating your birth plan is about discovering what feels right for you.

each choice you make reflects your values, preferences, and hopes.

embrace this time as an opportunity to connect with yourself, your partner, and your baby on a profound level. ✨

being asked to capture someones birth is truly an honor every time. 🥹 i will never take it for granted.

birth photos are forever my favorite.

they tell a story. a documentary of photos of the day. birth can be a blur for some and to be able to look back and walk through it again can be really healing.

no matter which way you birth your baby.. it’s worth of being captured.

Millie added on birth photos last minute and she is so glad she did… she was originally going for a VBAC but at 39.5 weeks her baby decided he wanted to flip breech. she was trying some natural ways to flip the baby up until her next appointment. but she went into spontaneous labor the day before her appointment. when she got to the hospital.. they did an ultrasound and confirmed baby was still not head down so after some thought.. she decided for a repeat c-section. after hearing about her first c-section and how traumatic it was.. seeing her smile through it this time around and being able to capture it made my doula heart so happy. even though her birth plan changed at the very last minute.. we still made this c-section special for her. 🥰

shared with my clients permission. 💛
