CARES of Western PA, Inc. Lifesharing and Day Services for adults with intellectual disabilities. We have 13 Campuses throughout Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties!

Day Services focus on developing life and pre-voc skills by volunteering and community activities. Cares of Western PA is an organization providing person-centered and community based services for individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism. We specialize in connecting our participants with opportunities in their communities.

Our VIPs and DSPs do amazing things to positively impact their communities. So proud of all they do everyday! 🤩

Today is World Down Syndrome Day! The 2026 theme is Together Against Loneliness.

Everyone feels lonely sometimes, but for many people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, loneliness is a more
common and painful experience. Their families can feel lonely too and feel cut off from support.

The answer is real inclusion - to be truly included in schools, jobs, and community life - not just being there, but taking part. Everyone should feel welcome and valued.

We challenge you to be the person who creates a welcoming space. Invite someone to join a conversation, a game, or a group. And challenge exclusion when you see it.

Last week, some of our VIPs went on a once in a lifetime adventure through our Chaperoned Vacations program! This was Cares of Western PA’s first cruise and it did not disappoint! The group started in NYC and cruised north, visiting Boston, Rhode Island, Maine, and Halifax before returning to NYC! They saw all the sites, made lots of memories, tried all the food and had the best time! 🚢⚓️☀️
