She began working in critical care with a burning desire to help people achieve healthier lifestyles. She furthered her studies at Duquesne University, graduating with a Masters in Family Health Nursing, and subsequently taught there as well. Following her stint in teaching, she continued her studies at New York University and received her PhD in Nursing Research, focusing on the study of weight loss & obesity. Dr. Chufo then established weight-loss centers throughout New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
