From the Desk of Pamela Houck
I wanted you to hear our bittersweet news directly from me.
We opened Valley Pike Early Learning Center to serve families through a Mixed Delivery Grant and the Department of Social Services subsidy program. Unfortunately, we didn’t open on time in July and lost the Mixed Delivery Grant. By the time we opened our doors in November, subsidy funds had run out and families were placed on a waitlist — some waiting as long as six months to receive assistance. We are still on that waitlist!
Then, when the subsidy stopped covering school-age children, we were unable to fill to capacity and could no longer sustain the $10,000 per month rent. After much prayer and consideration, we made the difficult decision to close our doors at Valley Pike this Friday.
However, God wasn’t through writing our story! Thanks to a partnership with Sons and Daughters, Inc., our ministry will continue as Littlest Lamb Child Care Center, opening its doors this coming Monday in Verona United Methodist Church.
Please keep us in your prayers as we move to our new location — that we would continue to be a blessing to the families we serve and to Verona United Methodist Church congregation, we are in awe of our new home and family....
How great is our God!
Thank you, Weyers Cave, for some wonderful memories.
With gratitude,
Pamela Houck
