We were so lucky to have such a great man in our community for such a long time. Park Ave Market and Teddy have been there helping this community for decades. Come join us this afternoon/evening to celebrate his life, and more importantly, honor this amazing legacy that he leaves behind.

Plenty of parking along Pleasant Street, and additional parking across the street behind the Early Childhood Preschool and Learning Center during the wake.

For the funeral at Old South Church Thursday at 11am, South Shore Hospital will be closing the parking lot across from the church for additional parking. Funeral Home staff will be there to assist.

View Theodore Hawkes's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

A very merry Christmas to all of you. God Bless!

Hello All,

As our industry changes more and more, we as funeral professionals are always looking for ways to navigate these changes from the "norm" of funeral service in the past. This way we can guide our families through this changing industry the best way.

One of these big changes is how we notify the public of a death, and then convey the service information to the community. For a hundred years we have used newspapers which are becoming less and less prevalent for many reasons; Cost, lack of distribution, tighter deadlines due to lack of staff, etc.

An obituary can cost anywhere from $550-$1000 to run in a printed newspaper. Most of our families choose to use those funds elsewhere to help control the overall cost of the funeral, which we strongly encourage. They are then relying on our website www.CCShepherd.com , word of mouth, and the family's personal social media pages.

In an effort to assist our client family's we will be posting every obituary on this page from now on. Giving members of the community another way to see who has passed away and when the services are. We have also built a Subscriber List that you can join with your email on the top-left of this page www.CCShepherd.com/obituaries on our website so that you can be emailed every obituary we upload to our website. We are big fans of privacy here at Shepherd's, and I personally assure you that if you subscribe your email will stay in our closed system and we will never sell your email to other companies.

God Bless,

Garret J. McDonald - Owner

“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”
‒ Elmer Davis

A very special thank you to every veteran for their service and their spouse for the support they give.

Although all of our services celebrate life while honoring legacy, there is always an extra beat of our hearts when we handle services for a veteran who has been there, in some way or another, to defend the freedom that we all enjoy. Try your best to never take that freedom for granted.

Thank you,

Garret McDonald and staff of C C Shepherd Funeral Home
