Have you noticed your hips moving toward the ball during your downswing?
That’s called early extension, and it’s one of the most common swing faults in golf!
Early extension throws off your timing, limits power, and puts stress on your low back.
And here’s the thing: it’s usually not a swing issue — it’s a body issue.
As a TPI-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Pat assess the physical causes behind early extension, like:
🏌🏻♀️Tight hips that can’t rotate
🏌🏻♀️Weak core and glutes that can’t control your posture
🏌🏻♀️Poor thoracic spine mobility
🏌🏻♀️Limited ankle range or balance issues
Once we know what your body’s missing, we create a plan to fix it — so you stop compensating and start swinging more efficiently.
That might look like:
🏌️♂️Targeted hip mobility work
🏌️♂️Core and glute activation drills
🏌️♂️Rotational control training
🏌️♂️Postural re-education in and out of your swing
This isn’t about “fixing your swing” with a tip or drill — it’s about giving your body the tools it needs to stay in your swing.
