We are excited to welcome Katie Lewis as our new HR Generalist at Monarch Communities!

Katie brings over 13 years of HR experience, specializing in Leave of Absence and Workers’ Compensation. She is SHRM-CP certified and holds a Master’s in Human Resources Management from Western Governors University. Known for her empathetic approach and commitment to compliance, Katie is passionate about building positive workplace cultures that support employees at every level.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her two children, her dogs, and staying engaged with global affairs.

She will partner with culinary and wellness teams on menu planning, staff training, resident counseling, and memory care nutrition — helping ensure residents enjoy meals that are both nourishing and enjoyable.

Meet Ron Wolter, who has called Monarch home for two years:

“Now that I’ve settled into my environment, I wouldn’t want to be any other place.”

Ron first chose Monarch Southbury with his wife for the great amenities and caring team. After her passing in 2023, our staff was there for him every step of the way. Today, at 88, Ron enjoys puzzles, gardening, live music, and art—surrounded by friends and supported by a team that treats him like family.

🍝 Meatballs, Memories & Community at The Current South Shore 🍝

This weekend, we had a deliciously fun time in the kitchen as one of our wonderful residents shared their famous meatball recipe — and showed us step by step how to make it!

From mixing to rolling to simmering in sauce, everyone got involved — and of course, everyone got to taste the results! Spoiler alert: they were absolutely amazing. 😋

Moments like these are what make The Current South Shore feel like home — where recipes are shared, stories are told, and the kitchen brings us all together.

✨🌈 Sarees, Stories & Pride at The Current South Shore 🌈✨
This Pride Month, we celebrated not just love and identity, but also the rich beauty of culture, tradition, and togetherness.
Roopa guided us through the art, history, and elegance of saree draping — transforming fabric into a celebration of self-expression. For many of us, it was a first — and an unforgettable one. 🌸 From bold colors to flowing silks, every saree held a story, and every person wearing one did too.
It was about more than clothing — it was about connection. To culture, to each other, and to the freedom of showing up fully as ourselves. Pride is about being seen and embraced. And in that moment, wrapped in six yards of tradition and joy, we felt it deeply.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience with our community. 💛
