For those in the thick of infertility, every month is hard. But during the holiday season, these feelings amplify as you gather with family and friends and reflect back on your year that may not have gone as you hoped.

We hope you find some things to be thankful for this season, even if it’s as small as an amazing coffee, a great TV binge-watch, or a dinner out with your best friends that gets you through another day.

What are you thankful for as you begin or continue on your family-building journey?

If navigating the holidays while struggling with infertility feels like an Olympic sport, you’re not the only one going for the gold 🥇.

The last few weeks of the year conjure up a flurry of emotions for those who are hoping to grow their family; it’s a mixture of reflecting back on the last 12 months and figuring out how to move forward while fielding holiday party invites and awkward questions from well-meaning relatives. You know the ones.

However you’re feeling right now is valid. Let yourself acknowledge your emotions and go through this season the way it makes sense for you. Still, we hope these reframes give you a slightly new perspective on infertility this time of year. At CCRM Fertility, we’re here to support you in any way that we can ❤️.

Awareness months like Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Movember are powerful opportunities to shine a light on cancer and hereditary risk, raising important conversations about family and future health.

For many people and couples facing infertility, IVF can be a path to building a family. It can also offer reassurance for prospective parents with a family history of hereditary disease or cancer. Having biological children can carry extra weight for people with these gene mutations, but IVF with PGT-M —preimplantation genetic testing for a monogenic disorder —makes it possible to test embryos before pregnancy and only transfer healthy embryos that don’t have the gene mutation, therefore protecting future generations.

If you’re a carrier of BRCA1 or other inherited cancers, scroll through for an explanation on how this incredible science works, and how CCRM can help.
