On Monday, representatives from South Shore Health and Boston Children’s Hospital gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the recent opening of Boston Children’s Physicians Norwell!

Located within South Shore Medical Center Norwell, this new location expands our longstanding collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital and expands access to pediatric specialty care for families across the South Shore.

Our cardiovascular professionals care for patients at South Shore Cardiology and in many different areas of South Shore Hospital MA, including in our Cardiovascular Center, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, on Pratt 5, and through our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

February 9-13 is Ambulatory Care Nurses Week, a time to celebrate ambulatory care nurses across South Shore Health!

These nurses care for patients in a variety of settings, including the Grayken Center for Treatment, South Shore Medical Center, The Women's Center of South Shore Medical Center, South Shore Urology, the South Shore Health Center for Wound Healing, the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health, and more.

Our ambulatory care nurses are educators, advocates, and expert caregivers, playing a vital role in supporting patients and families every day.

We’re proud to participate in the Shaw’s GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS campaign once again this year!

Through the month of February, Shaw’s will donate $1 from the sale of each GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS reusable shopping bag to South Shore Health.

Bags cost $3 and are made of 95% recycled materials, making them both a practical and environmentally friendly solution.

This fundraiser is valid at Shaw’s Weymouth, located at 610 Middle Street, Weymouth, MA 02189.

As part of a community service project, these generous Girl Scouts recently donated a variety of handmade valentines and Girl Scout cookies to our Emergency Department Colleagues.

South Shore VNA recently received a generous donation of Kindness Kits from Connor's Kindness Project!

These kits, thoughtfully assembled for the VNA's pediatric patients, include comforting toys and activities designed to help children feel supported and at ease during stressful moments.

Founded in 2020, Connor’s Kindness Project’s mission is to spread positivity and help others through simple, meaningful acts of kindness.

We're grateful that this wonderful organization has once again thought of our patients and their families.

We send a special thank you to Stacey, a volunteer with Connor’s Kindness Project, who kindly delivered the kits to the VNA.

We're grateful to our teams for their commitment to sustainability and reducing food waste!

Great job!

We'd like to give a shoutout to our Nutrition & Food Services and Environmental Health & Safety Teams!

Over the past year, these teams have led our food waste recycling program with RecycleWorks, a program that has diverted 108 tons (196,200 pounds) of organic waste from landfills.

That’s equivalent to:

• 46 fewer cars on the road
• 139 gallons of gasoline not used
• 36 homes’ worth of electricity saved
• 329 trees grown for ten years

This program has positioned us as leaders in sustainable practices, well ahead of upcoming state regulations.

We're grateful to our colleagues for thinking about the environment and for making this powerful impact!
