We're grateful to Kelsey for sharing this beautiful photo of her and her son, Bodhi, from his time in our Messina Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)!
Kelsey delivered Bodhi and his twin sister, Sunny, via emergency C-section at South Shore Hospital at just under 32 weeks gestational age.
Both babies spent several weeks in the NICU, where Kelsey says they received excellent care.
"The care my twins received was better than I could have ever expected," she said. "If your babies are at the NICU at South Shore Hospital, they’re in the best possible care."
In addition, Kelsey and her husband, Glenn, felt supported by the NICU's Family Integrated Care model, also known as FICare, which encourages parents to be equal members of their child's care team.
"We were able to take their vitals, do their feedings, change their diapers...everything," she explained. "At first, we were nervous to bring our twins home, but we were so involved with their care at the hospital, it made the transition home really smooth."
We're pleased to share that both babies are now at home and doing well. Thank you for sharing your story, Kelsey!
