I was scrolling through social media today and this article from the New York Times caught my eye.

It spoke to me on both a personal and professional level...

I have never liked how birth control has made me feel, but most doctors would disregard my gut feeling about it's effect on me. I'm grateful to no longer have to take it, and I feel much more like myself.

Professionally, I help women everyday with issues involving the most intimate aspects of their lives... their s*xual lives, pelvic pain and so much more.

Take a moment to read this article. It made me feel like someone is finally paying attention to women's concerns.

And if you are struggling with low libido, pelvic dysfunction or vaginal or vulvar pain, seek out help from a trusted healthcare provider or a pelvic floor specialist. There is help!

Runners, like me, tend to develop a lot of tightness in the pelvic floor muscles.
When the muscles get really tight, they can become dysfunctional.
And this can lead to leaking urine!
Training the pelvic floor properly can help you stay dry through your run.

To best take care of your pelvic floor, you gotta treat these muscles like all the other ones you have!

You do you squats then you stretch your quads.
You go for a run and then stretch your hamstrings.

Well, your pelvic floor muscles are working ALL THE TIME! So, give them a little TLC with some gentle stretches.

The malasana stretch is a great option. Feel free to use a yoga block under your bum if you aren't this flexible.

Hold it and breath. Focus on the pelvic floor relaxing with a deep inhale.

Try it out!
And if you want more ideas for strengthening the pelvic floor, sign up for my monthly newsletter. November's releases on Wednesday and I talk about ways to strengthen the pelvic floor.

Forming new habits can be really tough!!!

I tell my clients to keep it simple and add one small item at a time.

It also helps to "habit stack"... meaning, if you already are in the habit of brushing your teeth twice per day, maybe take a few moments before or after to do something new. This could be taking some deep breaths, drinking more water, doing your kegels.

And don't think you are going to get it perfect the first time! Treat each day like a new opportunity to get it right. If you forget to drink your 60 oz of water on Monday, just get back to it on Tuesday.

What are some new habits you are working on? Remember, keep it simple and repeatable!

You got this💗

I see so many pregnant women complaining of hip pain.

Whether on the outside of the hip, at the p***c bone or in the groin, it can be really debilitating!💥
Here are some quick tips on how to keep your hips strong without causing pain...

👉Keep both feet on the ground. Single leg exercises can be super aggravating to the pelvis which will cause pain in the hips
👉Focus on glute strengthening: bridges, squats, double leg dead lift...
👉Stretch gently. Your body is making relaxin which relaxes your ligaments in preparation for labor and delivery so you want to make sure you don't overstretch!
👉Keep it simple. Do you love going to a workout class? Make modifications to the routine so that you keep the moves simple and controllable.

Stay tuned this week as I demonstrate exercises and stretches to keep you feeling strong and healthy throughout your pregnancy💗💗

I did it! I studied for the past 5 months and passed!

I am now a certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner. To be eligible to sit for the exam, all applicants must have completed 2000 hours of direct pelvic patient care in the past 8 years, 500 of which must have been completed in the last 2 years.

As a solo practitioner and business owner, I didn't do this to get a job or get a raise. I did it for my own growth and professional development and I'm really proud of myself. It's been a long time since I've studied this much!

I love what I do and I love my clients. I'm a lucky girl💗

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely mamas out there!

I love this photo, but it's not actually what we did today🤔

We built a fence, planted veggies, took a walk, ate dinner together. But I didn't take photos of all of that... my hands were too dirty.

I hope you spent the day doing what you love.

Cheers,

My favorite way to celebrate Earth Day everyday? Ride a bike!

If you know me, you know I ride my bike to work everyday (unless it's snowing) and my car usually sits out front of my house collecting tree sap and bird p**p on it.

What is your favorite way to 💗🌍?

The reason more women and men don't receive Pelvic Floor PT is because they are too embarrassed to talk to their doctors about...
👉leaking urine
👉painful s*x
👉pelvic pain
👉s*xual dysfunction
👉pelvic organ prolapse

But in many states, you can access PT (including pelvic floor PT) directly, that is, without a doctor's referral. So, take charge of your own health, find a pelvic floor PT and get an appointment scheduled!
We love problem-solving around bladder, bowel and s*xual issues💗
