Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS) of Colorado is a charitable organization serving the Archdiocese of Denver. As a ministry of the Catholic Church, we provide funeral, cremation, and cemetery services, as well as educational outreach to parishes and caregiver organizations. As part of our core purpose of "Filling the Void of Loss with Faith," we are dedicated to professionally bring faith and understanding to those making end-of-life decisions for themselves or those they love. While we do charge for our services in what has become a very commercial industry, we are committed, as a charity, to offer innovative programs that provide financial assistance, free options, and programs to meet the needs of our local community. Our locations include Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (Wheat Ridge, CO), Saint Simeon Catholic Cemetery (Aurora, CO), and the Archdiocese of Denver Funeral Home at Mt. Simeon (Aurora, CO), Caldwell-Kirk (Denver), and St. Olivet Catholic Cemetery was blessed on September 25, 1892 by Bishop Nicholas Matz. Since that time, over 150,000 people have been buried here and it serves, today, as a majestic and historical symbol of our faith. According to the Catholic Church, two places are considered sacred: the physical worship space and the Catholic cemetery. It is of significant importance to the church that proper reverence be afforded to the body, not only in life, but also in death. Our compassionate cemetery staff members take great care in every aspect of the burial process to respect the sacredness of the body and the ground in which it is laid. We offer full cemetery services which include standard casket and cremated ground burials, above-ground mausoleums, above-ground niches for cremated remains, and a full selection of grave markers. Our caring cemetery staff stands ready to assist you with all your cemetery-related needs. Visit Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery 12801 W 44th Ave Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 or learn more by calling us at (720) 684-5302. St. Simeon Catholic Cemetery was blessed on April 22, 2004 by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., culminating several years of careful planning to bring a Catholic cemetery to the growing, east metro Denver region. Archbishop Chaput named the cemetery for St. Simeon, a man of the Holy Spirit. Simeon was told he would not see death until he had met the Messiah promised to the people of God. In the second chapter of Luke’s gospel, that upon seeing the Christ child enter the temple, Simeon took the baby Jesus in his arms and proclaimed, “Now I can die content! For I have seen the Savior you have given to the world.” We offer full cemetery services which include standard casket and cremated ground burials, above-ground mausoleums, above-ground niches for cremated remains, and a full selection of grave markers. Visit St. Simeon Catholic Cemetery 22001 East State Highway 30 Aurora, CO 80018 or learn more by calling us at (720) 943-6976. The Archdiocese of Denver opened its own mortuary and funeral home in 1981, located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO. We were the first Catholic diocese in the United States to own and operate its own funeral home. Since that time, we have served over 20,000 families. As part of our guiding philosophy of "Filling the Void of Loss with Faith," we assist families with planning and facilitating the funeral services of their loved ones. Our caring funeral home staff stands ready to assist you with all your funeral-related needs. Visit the Archdiocese of Denver Funeral Home at Mt. Olivet 12801 W 44th Ave Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 or learn more by calling us at (720) 684-5302. Caldwell-Kirk has a long, proud history serving Denver's African-American community. It was originally called Kirk Mortuary, and was founded in 1949 by the late William H. Kirk and his wife, Ruby Kirk-Gray. In 1984, the mortuary was renamed Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary when Elvin Caldwell, Jr., purchased it and became president and general manager. With its sale to the Archdiocese in February 2019, it acquired a new name, Archdiocese of Denver Funeral Home at Caldwell-Kirk, and continues to serve the local community. Visit the Archdiocese of Denver Funeral Home at Caldwell-Kirk 2101 N. Marion St. Denver, CO 80205 or learn more by calling us at (720) 943-6974. In 2020, the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services opened a funeral home and cemeteries office at St. Thomas More Catholic church to better serve families in the Denver Metro Area. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:7)

As St. Paul approached the end of his life, he saw it not with fear, but with trust — confident in the crown of righteousness the Lord has prepared for him. This November, End-of-Life Month reminds us that our own journey can be lived in the same spirit:
offering our lives as a gift, persevering in faith, and placing our hope in the promise of eternal life. ✝️

Throughout October, we've introduced the Catholic End-of-Life Network — ministries working together to guide and support families in faithful preparation. 🌿

Our theme is simple: building blocks of faith, guidance, and care. Just as each block builds upon another, these ministries form a foundation that leads us toward the radiant Cross — Christ, our eternal hope. ✝️

This November, join us as we walk together in trust, reflect on the sacred gift of life, and prepare not with fear, but with faith in the promise of the Resurrection.

As a ministry of the Archdiocese of Denver, Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS) of Colorado offers a unique program that allows, at no charge, the placement of cremated remains in our Crypt of All Souls. This service is available to anyone of any faith who has cremated remains that they want permanently interred within the consecrated grounds of the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery. 🙏

For families keeping a loved one's ashes at home, the Church offers a sacred place of peace through the Crypt of All Souls and the annual Bring Them Home Mass — ensuring every soul is laid to rest with dignity and prayer.

On the feast of St. John Paul II, we reflect on his
prayer from the Letter to the Elderly:

“Grant, O Lord of Life, that we may savor every season of
our lives as a gift… And when the moment of our definitive passage comes, grant that we may face it with serenity, without regret for what we shall leave behind.”

As we journey towards End-of-Life Month, may his words
remind us to trust in God's mercy, welcome every stage of life as grace, and look with hope toward the Resurrection. ✝️

This November, the Archdiocese of Denver invites Catholics to reflect on the sacred gift of life and the hope we have in Christ.
The Church calls us to prepare for the end of life not with fear, but with faith — making decisions that uphold human dignity and witness to our eternal destiny.

Through the Catholic End-of-Life Network, you'll find trusted partners who offer guidance, compassion, and support for every step of the journey:

The Catholic Foundation – facilitates charitable giving for the long-term benefit of donors and the Church.

Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services (CFCS) – provides faith-based funeral, cremation, and cemetery services rooted in Catholic tradition.

Emmaus Catholic Hospice – provides Catholic home hospice care, support, and education that honors the dignity of each person.

St. Raphael Counseling – seeks to change the culture by bringing together the teachings of the Catholic Church and the very best in psychological care.

Respect Life Denver – strives to educate and inspire youth and adults throughout Northern Colorado on life issues — from conception to natural death.

Knights of Columbus the Wheaton Agency – provides opportunities for members and other clients to align financial decisions with Catholic values through life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance and mutual funds aligned with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Together, these ministries form a network of hope, ensuring that no one walks this path alone.

Stay tuned this November as we share reflections and resources that remind us:
death is not the end, but the doorway to eternal life.

Today we celebrate St. Teresa of Ávila, Doctor of the Church and master of prayer.

🙏 She reminds us: “Let nothing disturb you, Let nothing frighten you, All things are passing away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.”

Her wisdom points us to the heart of End-of-Life Month: we are called not to fear, but to rest in the peace of Christ — trusting that He is our eternal hope. ✝️
