O Say Can Youth Sing?

The VFW Auxiliary national anthem singing contest, Get Excited for the Red, White and Blue! is an opportunity for youth to share their talent, display their patriotism and express their creativity while singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.” They can also win a $500 national prize! Video entries and signed entry forms are due to a local VFW Auxiliary by March 31, 2024.

Next Sunday at VFW Post 3558 Wheatland Sportsclip Barber shop will be cutting men's and boys hair for donation only to support the Help-A-Hero Scholarship fund. Some come get a haircut for a great cause.

CHEYENNE – A state of Wyoming veterans service officer from the Wyoming Veterans Commission will conduct community outreach services around Wyoming cities throughout October.
Crystal Emig is available to meet with veterans and their families to discuss state and federal veterans’ benefits, Department of Veterans Affairs claims, or VA healthcare. Emig can also help veterans and their families apply for benefits, file claims, or request healthcare.
Her office is located at the Joint Force Readiness Center, 5800 Central Ave., in Cheyenne, and she will be available at the following locations:
• Torrington: Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Workforce Services Center, 1610 E. M St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Wheatland: Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Workforce Center, 1958 W. Mariposa Pkwy., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Pine Bluffs: Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Pine Bluffs Senior Center, 309 Elm St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Cheyenne: Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Vet Center, 2617 E. Lincolnway, Ste. C, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Most other weekdays Emig is available by appointment at her office. Please contact Crystal Emig at 307-256-1778 to schedule an appointment at her office or any of the above locations.

Wheatland’s VFW Post 3558 and American Legion Post 10, and their respective Auxiliaries, cordially invite all US veterans and their families to attend the 2019 Veterans Appreciation Picnic at Lewis Park on Saturday, August 24, 2019. This free, BBQ event will begin at 6 pm with all food and drinks provided. Post membership is not required. Please join the Posts’ veterans for some food and fellowship at this annual gathering to say “Thank You” for your service to Wyoming and our nation.
