Runners knee and Achilles tendinitis are common runners injuries. They are from a combination of overuse without recovery and kinetic chain imbalances.

Having a proper movement screen can help identify weak links in the muscles. Corrective exercises can then be prescribed to balance the system and remove excess strain on joints and muscles.

Make sure to build in time for recovery ❤️‍🩹 as part of a training program. This includes:

1. Mobility and stretching

You know the one. That nagging ache in your lower back when you stand up from your desk at the office. The “crunch” in your shoulder during your morning workout. That tightness in your calf that you’ve been promising to “roll out” for three weeks now.

We’re all guilty of it. Custom Orthotics are helpful when foot 🦶 biomechanical or structural problems are present. By supporting the feet during the gait cycle, we can help offload pressure on chronically stressed tissues.

Orthotics also benefit other injured joints, such as the knee, hip, and low back. This is due to bio- mechanical changes and aberrant movements in the lower chain when we have imbalances in the foot.

Adding in corrective rehab exercises to strengthen 💪🏽 weak muscles is also recommended.

And let’s not forget about joint manipulation to the foot and ankle joints to ensure proper range of motion.
