Pain on the bottom of your heel with the first few steps in the morning? 🦶

This is a common symptom of plantar fasciitis.

While it may feel that the plantar fascia is tight and needs to be loosened, recent research has actually found that it is less stiff in those with plantar fasciitis!

This is why it is important to implement the correct stability program to return the fascia back to its normal stiffness!

A recent research article found that those with neck pain had longer reaction times and decreased shoulder movement accuracy.

How long does it take for tendons to heal? ⏳

A recent study found that elbow, knee, and ankle tendon injuries usually last 3-4 months, and shoulder injuries typically take up to a year to fully recover without treatment.

This highlights the need for treatment that includes strengthening and improving movement patterns, regardless of the injury location.

A recent review found that people with low back pain have:

✔️ Limited hip range of motion
✔️ Increased activation of the glutes and hamstrings
✔️ Weakness of the hip muscles

Can chili peppers help with osteoarthritis? 🌶️

One treatment for osteoarthritis is using capsaicin, an ingredient found in peppers, which is thought to help mask joint pain when used correctly in creams and patches.

While chili peppers are great in your salsa, we don't generally recommend rubbing them on your skin!

Experiencing low back pain while running? 🏃‍♀️

Biomechanics and strength are critical factors in treating low back pain. However, running cadence (step rate) also plays a significant role.

A recent study found that individuals with lower back pain tend to run with a lower cadence than those without pain.

Increasing your running cadence might reduce pain and decrease the load on your spine. 👍 So step it up. And if that’s not enough, step into our clinic- We’re here to help!

✔️ Ensure it fits properly and is not too heavy.
