These beautiful, tall, historic trees. The stories they could tell about everything they’ve seen. It’s hard not to look at them and think of the trees lost in Hawaii this week. The stories about the 150 year old tree that survived and how much it means to those that have seen it. We sometimes forget how connected we are to nature. If you have a moment today, go outside, take your shoes off and let your feet enjoy the earth underneath them.

Seniors face increasing challenges and big life changes. Yoga helps with functional strength, healthy range of motion, and a positive stress response. Learn how to see and speak to Seniors as powerful and relevant human beings while offering methods that support graceful aging and total well being. Chair, Restorative, and other age appropriate techniques including anatomy & physiology for the changing needs of Seniors, sequencing for aging bodies, breathing techniques to soothe the nervous system, and modifications/propping for safety and ease.

We probably all have a love hate relationship with twists. Some days they feel amazing and some days they just don’t. But if we can get past the physical discomfort that might come along with a twist we can really tap into the mental wring out. We can begin to let go of all of those things that might hold us back from finding what’s really meant for us. 🙏💖

We could probably all benefit from more hip mobility. For those of us that have jobs that have us sitting at a desk all day or if we run or cycle, full frog 🐸 will definitely help to counter the lack of movement in our hips and hip flexors. This pose can also help with back pain. Ideally you will settle in this pose where you feel some sensation in your hips and then hold there. Once that sensation lessens that’s when you know to go deeper. Less is more in a pose like this so be mindful of going too far too fast. ❤️
