To avoid a real-life Halloween horror story – going blind because of a costume accessory – the American Academy of Ophthalmology is warning the public against wearing costume contact lenses purchased without a prescription. These illegally sold cosmetic lenses may not be sterile and can cause a host of serious eye problems capable of morphing a fun Halloween night into a nightmare.

☀👁💧Tips to Manage Dry Eyes in Summer:☀👁💧
-Wear sunglasses (preferably wraparound) to shield your eyes from wind, sun, and allergens.
-Stay hydrated — drink more water throughout the day.
-Use artificial tears regularly, especially if you're in air-conditioned environments.
-Avoid direct air flow on your face from AC vents or fans.
-Apply warm compresses daily to help with oil gland function in your eyelids (which helps stabilize tears).
-Avoid rubbing your eyes—this can worsen irritation and dryness.
-Rinse eyes after swimming, or use preservative-free lubricating drops.
