Older Americans Month
Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month, a time to recognize older Americans' contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm our commitment to serving older adults.

The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, focuses on prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as cornerstones of healthy aging. It encourages taking an active role in managing your own health, advocating for yourself, accessing preventive care, and making informed decisions that support independence.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week® (NSNCW) celebrates the
essential role that skilled nursing care centers play in providing high
quality 24-hour nursing care to millions of America’s seniors and
individuals with disabilities.

Did you know it was established in 1967 by the American Health Care Association (AHCA)?

MOMENTS in BLOOM
This year’s theme reflects how everyday acts of compassion,
connection, and teamwork grow into meaningful experiences for our
residents, families, and staff. We celebrate the idea that big and small
moments, when nurtured, can flourish to help residents live life to the
fullest and with purpose.

Thank you to our team that make our culture of caring bloom.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers!

Today, we want to celebrate the work of a charity helping mothers with memory issues.

“Pearl's Memory Babies Delivers hope one “baby” at a time to people facing Alzheimer's and dementia, providing comfort, companionship, and renewed purpose when their world no longer makes sense.”

It’s beautiful to think how cuddling a bundle of joy, even if it’s a doll, can have such a calming impact on mothers with dementia.

Stress Awareness Month
We know that caring for a family member can be very stressful, and you might add to your stress by worrying about how your loved one will feel moving from home to a facility to receive care.

The WHO says, “For older adults, social connection is particularly important to reduce risk factors such as social isolation and loneliness. At this stage of life, meaningful social activities can significantly improve positive mental health, life satisfaction and quality of life; they can also reduce depressive symptoms.”

We plan activities to help build social connections and put smiles on the faces of our residents because having fun is good for them and our team, too.
