You might not realize that gummy candies are among the worst treats for your children’s teeth. Their sticky, chewy nature adheres to enamel and feeds cavity-causing bacteria for extended periods. They trap sugar in molar grooves, increasing cavity risk, and some are highly acidic, which erodes enamel. The sour flavored gummies are coated in these acidic powders. It is best to limit consumption or opt for chocolate. Chocolate is a better option because it melts quickly and washes away faster if you are needing something sweet. Always remember you cannot out brush your diet!
