Housing Forward runs the West Suburban PADS homeless shelters. I have been working with them as their Outreach & Engagement Manager for almost a year now. We are very fortunate to be able to open an additional shelter site for 20 additional folks for the last 6 weeks of the current season in Oak Park. We are looking for some folks to volunteer or create volunteer teams to provide food, serve food or work various shifts to help out. Take a look at the flyer and call us if you can help!

Instead of going for public support, maybe working at getting long term commitments for financial donations is a better option!

A public display of support often satisfies people’s need to present themselves in a positive light, and they subsequently lose interest in the cause.
