Today’s HHS announcement matters.
For years, people with Lyme disease have been told:
“Your tests are normal.”
“It’s anxiety.”
“That can’t still be Lyme.”
Meanwhile, they’re exhausted, in pain, foggy, and watching their lives shrink.
That’s not just missed diagnosis — it’s medical gaslighting.
Today’s announcement is a real shift. A long-overdue acknowledgment that chronic Lyme and post-infectious illness are real, complex, and deserving of serious research and care.
This doesn’t fix everything overnight.
But it cracks the door open.
And for those who’ve been dismissed, doubted, or told it was “all in your head” — that crack matters.
Truth is starting to catch up.
