Often, I feel helpless in these budget-cutting, policy-changing times. Then I remember: it’s really a call to action to create a local community and find common ground.
Today, I stopped at Galena Creek Regional Park and talked to the program manager. Gabe Zurn told me about her efforts to put on a charity event to support their K-12 programming. For many local underserved kids, this is the only way they develop a loving relationship with the natural world.
The event is next weekend and only 17 people have signed up.
If you feel like me and want to make a difference, participate in your local events.
Rather than chilling on your couch, let’s create the world we want to live in and participate in meaningful local events.
