Centaured Massage Centaured Massage provides Equine Massage and Equine MLD Treatments by appointment in PA, NJ, NY, CT. Also providing riding instruction.

Centaured Massage provides Therapeutic Massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage for horses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Horses who are in training and competing benefit from regular massage therapy in the same way as human athletes. A regular maintenance massage helps the horse to recover from the stresses of work, helps prevent injury and keeps the horse comfortable for optimal performance in schooling and competition. Massage Therapy has been shown to decrease recovery time from athletic exertion as it encourages relaxation in the muscles and aids in the flushing of toxins produced during exercise. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a precise hands on treatment that aids the return of Lymph Fluid to the Circulation cleansing the tissue of proteins and toxins in the interstitial fluid and improving the metabolic ground of the tissue. MLD is extremely calming to the nervous system and helps to boost the immune system. This therapy has particular benefits for horses with Equine Metabolic Syndrome, aids in recovery from Laminitis and helps those with a tendency to "stock up". The horses Lymphatic System is designed to work optimally with constant movement making this therapy particularly useful for horses who are stabled for much of each day. Centaured Connection is a holistic body/mind approach to how humans and horses communicate with each other. This work adds another layer to the understanding of how you and your horse communicate beneath the physical aids. Have you ever wondered why horses are such willing partners? Centaured Connection explores the relationships between the seven major chakras in both horse and human and how energy flows through their connections both in and out of the saddle. Becoming aware of the chakras (whorling, dynamic centers of energy) and learning how to receive and channel their energy can enrich your riding experience as well as your connection to nature and self.

Frozen lumpy ground can make any horse look lame but if the horse has insulin resistance there may be more going on. The first thing to do is rule out foot pain from unforgiving ground conditions, rather than from laminitis. All horses have difficulty negotiating uneven frozen ground and their frogs...

A wonderful session this afternoon with Versace at Alexa Derr's. He was "in the zone" and totally connected, letting me know exactly when I was in the right spot and when he was experiencing a referred sensation. image3.JPG
