Everyone deserves access to mental health care! In 2024, children, adults, families, and students who often face barriers to care received deeply discounted therapy services through our partners at Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants (CBC), with out-of-pocket costs as low as $20 per session. Through our partnership with CBC, 292 therapy sessions were made affordable and accessible to those in need, helping individuals better manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

At Access Psychology Foundation, we are committed to increasing access to evidence-based mental health treatment and professional training for marginalized communities. Unfortunately, many students of color and youth in underserved areas are facing a growing barrier due to federal mental health cuts reducing access to trauma-informed care and resilience programs, which are critical for their emotional well-being and development.

Please help us to bridge this gap and ensure that every young person has access to the care, support, and skills they need to heal, thrive, and build resilience by visiting https://www.access-psychology.org/ to make a year-end contribution.

Did you know that in April 2025, $1 billion in school-based mental health grants were cancelled? These grants fund counselors, social workers, and school-based clinicians who support students every day.

This impact is felt most deeply in communities that already face barriers to care. Without these funds, school districts struggle to hire diverse mental health professionals, students of color and youth in underserved areas lose access to trauma-informed care and resilience programs, and essential evidence-based programs disappear.

In the wake of these federal cuts, Access Psychology Foundation is working to fill the gap by expanding access to evidence-based treatment and training for marginalized communities, partnering with schools and community organizations to train educators and frontline staff in CBT and DBT, and building a diverse pipeline of future clinicians through fellowships and internships for underrepresented students.

Access Psychology Foundation is committed to advancing equity in mental health by increasing representation within the field. By training more therapists of color to serve communities of color, we’re working to ensure that culturally responsive, high-quality care is accessible to everyone.

Through innovative training programs and scholarships, Access Psychology Foundation is expanding the network of mental health professionals from underrepresented populations so that every individual can find support from providers who understand their experiences and reflect their communities.

At Access Psychology Foundation, we’re committed to making sure every community has access not only to care, but to care that reflects their lived experiences. When individuals see clinicians who understand their culture, language, and background, trust grows, stigma decreases, and outcomes improve.

APF is committed to building a more diverse mental health workforce by training and supporting clinicians of color, expanding culturally responsive care, and ensuring underserved communities receive the evidence-based support they deserve. On this Giving Tuesday, it’s important to acknowledge the growing challenges facing young people and families nationwide due to budget cuts to mental health. Through partnerships with schools and community-based organizations, APF is working to close the gap by expanding access to evidence-based mental health tools, training educators and frontline staff, and strengthening the future mental health workforce by supporting diverse fellows and interns who are preparing to serve the communities that need them most.

Every contribution APF receives helps sustain training, scholarships, and community-based programming at a time when philanthropic investment is more critical than ever. When you give to APF, you help ensure that young people and families experiencing the greatest need continue to have access to effective and culturally responsive mental health care.
