Women in NY still earn just 87 cents for every dollar paid to men—a gap that directly impacts a family’s ability to afford housing, childcare, and groceries.

When we close the wage gap, we strengthen our entire economy. This , we are calling on leaders to prioritize pay transparency and enforce the protections every worker deserves.

It’s time for every woman in New York to earn her full worth.

🚨 Action Alert: The SAVE Act is on the Senate floor today

The Senate is taking up the SAVE Act 2.0, legislation that would make it harder for eligible Americans to register to vote and to cast a ballot.

This bill would require additional documentation to prove citizenship and could even require voters to show documents at the polling place. Millions of Americans do not have easy access to these documents.

If passed, this could disproportionately impact:
• First-time voters
• Students
• Married individuals with name changes
• Naturalized citizens

More than 21 million eligible voters are at risk. The League believes elections should be free, fair, and accessible for all eligible Americans. We cannot allow policies that silence voters.

On this International Women’s Day, the Westchester Women’s Agenda joins in sounding the alarm over growing backlash against gender equality worldwide.

The findings in a recent UN report offer a wake-up call:
🚨 72% of countries still allow child marriage, which disproportionately affects girls.
🚨 64% is the total legal rights women hold compared to men.
🚨 54% of countries fail to define r**e based on consent.

Today, we call for urgent and decisive action to end impunity, defend the rule of law, and deliver equality for all women and girls.

As Black History Month comes to a close, WWA is proud to salute two history-making leaders who are extraordinary advocates for Westchester women:

✨ Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who shattered glass ceilings in 2019 as the first African American to serve as the NYS Senate Majority Leader.

✨ Ken Jenkins, who made history this past year as the first African American to serve as Westchester County Executive.

We thank Senator Stewart-Cousins and County Executive Jenkins for their tireless dedication to leading our County and State toward a more just, fair, and equitable future for all.

We are proud to celebrate the 17 accounting interns selected for this year’s Tax Season Internship!

In partnership with the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSCPA) and the Westchester County Association (WCA), we’re building equitable career pathways.

By connecting underrepresented college students with leading local firms, we are closing the opportunity gap and investing in the future of Westchester’s workforce.

Since its inception, this paid internship program has put over $215,000 directly into the hands of students, most of whom are retained beyond tax season. 💸

Join us in wishing our interns and their host firms an incredible and rewarding season ahead!
