White Plains PTA Special Needs Committee

White Plains PTA Special Needs Committee Creating a welcoming space for parents to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

We partner with educators and administrators to advocate for inclusive practices that honor every child’s unique strengths and learning needs. The Special Needs Committee of the White Plains District PTA provides an exciting venue for parents and the school district to work together, share information and resources, and create an on-going dialogue about issues relating to students with learning differences and disabilities. The committee is not a separate special education entity (SEPTA), but rather a committee of the district-wide PTA Council. Its goal is to address the needs of a broad range of students, not just those with an IEP, and to increase acceptance and inclusion of students with learning differences in our school community.
