Honored to be part of the global juried exhibition and deeply moved by the opportunity to meet Tova Friedman—Holocaust survivor, social worker, and author.

On Monday evening, I had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion on the power of art, healing, and the dangers of hatred, both past and present. It was an enriching experience to share the stage with incredible voices like Julie Brandon, Deborah Kades, Paula Straw, and Naomi Swyers.

This exhibition, held at the Raritan Valley Community College Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies, showcases the powerful works of artists from across the globe, including the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, Italy, and Canada.

A heartfelt thank you to Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. , , , and for making this impactful event possible.

Our shared human history includes a violent and shameful component -- that of deliberate attempts to eradicate specific populations due to differences of culture, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, and race. Often motivated by those in power, collective trauma and tragedy are part of our past and present.

Following the October 7th massacre in Israel and the horrific rise in Antisemitism, I am honored that my piece "Ruchel" has been selected, along with 36 other artists from around the world, for the SAQA Global Exhibition Bearing Witness by juror Robin L. Bernstein.

"The exhibition will educate viewers about the perils of antisemitism, racism, homophobia, sexism, and inequity and to learn from the history of The Holocaust and other Global Genocides and to amplify our shared humanity."

Bearing Witness will premiere at the Raritan Valley Community College, Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies in August 2024

Thrilled to share the news about my new book Rise With Radiance!

Hello!

With an outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and colleagues, I’ve transformed a personal endeavor into a daily source of inspiration titled Rise with Radiance. This book encapsulates a year-long journey during which I combined words and fabric drawings to create a unique practice for 365 consecutive days.

I’m excited to share that those who had a preview of the book have found it to be inspiring, and I’m eager to share it with you now. My hope is that you will find Rise with Radiance to be unique and uplifting as it is filled cover to cover with loving words to light your path every day of the year.

The purpose of sharing this book is to encourage the reader to connect with the sense of hopefulness that is divinely within them. Just as I have experienced, I encourage you to embrace the transformative influence of art and embark on a journey of self-discovery and inner enlightenment as you flip through the pages of Rise with Radiance.

Join me in this exciting venture of unveiling this heartfelt work of art. The book will be published later this September. In the meantime, feel free to catch glimpses of Rise with Radiance by following my page here on Facebook.

Your presence in this journey is deeply appreciated. Embrace your potential and Rise with Radiance today!

To my dear colleagues who are working, perhaps harder than we ever had, caring for our clients during these challenging and anxiety provoking times. I hope you remember to practice the same self care, compassion and skills that we support our clients to do. Here is a quick reminder of the many ways we can safely continue to do the work we love, while making certain we are taking care of ourselves as well.

Mental health pros are stressed out about new variants, too. Here's how they deal.

Check out my friend and colleague Dr. Michelle Maidenberg's excellent piece on Livestrong.com.
I applaud her for articulating what so many people, especially women, need to think about differently!

We spoke with mental health experts about why you should stop using the phrase “guilty pleasure" and instead find ways to embrace what you enjoy in life.

Thank you Sacred Threads Quilts for featuring my piece "Sisters of My Soul" on International Women's Day. "Every woman has her own voice, her own perspective, her own history, and her unique right to express herself freely while being connected in solidarity, patience, strength, courage, and love to others. Women are constantly surrounded and impacted by forces that move, and often, challenge them. In sisterhood and individually, each can breathe, notice, and choose how to respond to all that takes place in her life, as best she can, united in peace and sisterhood."

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I am delighted to share that I have expanded my private clinical practice to include virtual yoga and meditation classes.

These classes are for everyone.

With so many of us spending time at home, and with limited access to family and friends, I believe there is a need for a dynamic, welcoming virtual community that provides loving kindness, compassion, and self-care.

Join me as we breathe, bring our attention to the present moment, and move our bodies from the comfort of our homes as the cold weather is upon us.

Dates and times can be found on the link below
