Our Story

Prevention is what we do. Our evidence-based alcohol, to***co, ma*****na, opioid, and other drug abuse / violence prevention programs are used in schools and communities in the US and in 39 countries around the world. Integrating programs throughout the school day that promote positive mental health and social and emotional development are proven to strengthen students’ resilience and academic outcomes.

The Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) is uniquely designed to be flexible and interactive. The LST program has been extensively tested and proven effective at reducing to***co, alcohol, opioid, and illicit drug use by as much as 80%. Long-term follow-up studies also show that it produces prevention effects that are durable and long-lasting.

It’s effective when implemented with different delivery formats, when taught by different providers, and when delivered to different populations. It also works with elementary school, middle school, and high school students.

The main goals of the LST program are to teach prevention-related information, promote anti-drug norms, teach drug refusal skills, and foster the development of personal self-management skills and general social skills.
