Job description
OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT/TECHNICIAN
OFFICE PROCEDURES
Patient Related Duties:

Perform Pre-test procedures including:
Auto-refractor
Measure IOP w/ ORA-Non-contact tonometry/Handheld Tonometer
Measure patients glasses w/ automated lensometer
Topography if necessary
Update patients EHR
Chief complaint
PCP/Last visit
Update/confirm Medical Hx/Medications & allergies
Update/confirm Family Hx
Fill out PQRS
Perform additional testing as requested by Doctor including:
Optomap
Fundus Photography
OCT
Visual Fields
Assist Doctors as needed
Triage patient phone calls
Answer patient calls and assess urgency and make appointments for emergent issues
Assist with patient prior authorizations for medications
Other Duties:

Order contact lenses for stock and for patients
Keep contact lens inventory stocked and organized
Process contact lens returns as needed
Ensure contact lens solutions are stocked
Order exam supplies & ensure dilation drops & exam supplies are stocked
Request drug samples on behalf of Doctors
Keep exam rooms stocked & tidy
Perform routine maintenance on machines-Clean filters, dust, etc.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
