Last weekend, Lt Victor Mancha was invited to represent El Paso along side other firefighters from the area in the 2025 Texas Fire Olympic Games. They took 4th place out of 22 softball teams.

Always great when we can take part in community events. Today crews from Station 1 and our Fire Prevention Section took part in the WSMR CYS First Day of School Holiday. Crews were able to hand out over 300 back packs and other swag to students from White Sands School. Kuddos to Cpt Warden for scoring the back packs and AC Soto for organizing FD support.

Earlier today some of our finest were recognized by the Garrison Commander Col Mozer and Garrison Command Sergeant Major Latore.

Cpt. Dustan Warden was presented with a Length of Service award for 15 years of service to the Department of Defense

FF Alfonso Pacheco was awarded with the Garrison Commanders Award of Excellence for the 3rd Qtr

Steve Castañeda IT was awarded the Professional of the 2nd Qtr

Asst Chief Rick Saenz was presented with the Civilian Service Achievement Medal for outstanding work and dedication to White Sands Missile Range

Great post recognizing Bryson Hue

“Upon my drive home from work, there are days where I see this particular firefighter outside. I do not know his name or know him personally, but it seems to me that he is always training in his firefighting gear. It makes me feel safe living here as a citizen on WSMR seeing him training.

I am no first responder or have any knowledge in the firefighting profession. This particular firefighter working for the White Sands Missile Range Fire Department is always outside in the afternoon training and I know for sure what he is doing is not easy.

I would like to commend this firefighter on a job well done, I truly do feel safe if this firefighter is responding to my home on post. Great job White Sands Fire! We need more like him!”

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of recognizing some of our own

FF M. Medrano was presented with a 25 years Length of Service Award for his dedication to the Department of Defense .

FF A. Caro, FF J. Cruz, and LT J. Diaz, were presented with Army Certificates of Achievements for swift lifesaving actions taken during a medical emergency.

FF M. Diaz was presented with the Army Certificate of Achievement for winning the Garrison Commander Customer Service Award for the 1st Qtr.
