Training & Mindset, forever the standard.

07/21/2019

As many may have noticed, we've been on a bit of a hiatus. We can still be reached via this page, but for the foreseeable future we will not be holding any "major" medical training (no 7+ hour classes/BTFA for now). Questions/concerns, all are encouraged.

Oldie but goodie and forever the standard as a gun owner... get trained, stay trained, and act accordingly.

"Carry a gun. Carry two. But do it responsibly. I have the same issue with a civilian carrying a gun in public without proper training as I do with the cop who only goes to the range once a year and barely qualifies. Both are equally egregious."

"I don’t want to sit on my couch looking at pictures of the world on Instagram and thinking how cool it would be if I could afford it. I don’t want to slave away at a cubicle for thirty years, waiting for my chance to retire and FINALLY live the life I dream about in a body that can’t fulfill those lofty desires. Some can find fulfillment in a cubicle, and some can find joy in appreciating others’ experiences. However, if you’ve read this far, I am willing to bet that you want to wring every last molecule of energy out of life."

One of several life enriching articles published by a buddy of mine. Get some.

After a few years I decided to quit listening to all these self-styled experts, because I came to an inconvenient truth… there is no such thing as a balanced life. There are many choices, and of those choices is deciding where and how to allocate our time. The real key isn’t managing our time to acc...

First time running some youngsters through Firearm Safety (Weapon Handler Safety) and Basic Rifle Marksmanship. This 9 and 11 year old were so squared away with their safe weapon manipulation/handling and marksmanship that we had to move them into some shoot and move relay style drills.

Another short but sweet blog from Matt Graham. More than worth the two minute read.

"Jonah is learning what a lot of us learned yet choose to ignore: it is not about the tool, it is about the willingness to get the job done. Don’t get hung up on the process and lose sight of the goal."

My son mowed the lawn yesterday with the w**d eater. My wife and I looked out at him from the house, swinging away with the spinning tines, hacking at the grass. Uneven. Bare, in the spots where ei…

Provide good training to good people.

In keeping with the core values of the US Air Force, a desire to help others, and Rockwell Tactical Group's quote above: Providing good training to those who desire it, and are willing to work for it, is the core mission of PA Trauma Enterprise.

By investing time in those around us we create an ever growing population, with not only the willingness and desire to help, but the education and skill set to make it a reality. Hard is the day we find ourselves saying, "If only I could have done... I should have... I wish I knew how to..." Granted we will all experience circumstances out of our control and we will never become a "Jack of all trades." However, we can invest some time to better prepare ourselves for the very unfortunate reality that we all may one day face. Whether out on a scenic hike or a difficult climb, a car ride to the grocery store or cross country, a walk in the park or at the mall, at home or at school... It would seem unfortunate and dangerous events are able to find us anywhere. Getting good training to good people can lessen the impacts of such unfortunate events. It may even create a positive in the eyes of the individual you may find yourself aiding. With a strong mindset it may even prevent such incidents all together; or at the very least, help in the coping process. Jack of all trades? Far from it, though with the proper mindset and basic set of skills we hope to find less people saying, "I wish/should have... I wish I could have..." and more saying, "I did... I helped... I saved..." Preservation of life through effective training and a readiness to prioritize and act! *Demand More* - At PA Trauma Enterprise we offer classes at nearly half the price as other ā€œsimilarā€ classes. However, we offer more; more time, more practice, more scenarios, and more techniques/procedures that other medical classes sometimes shy away from. We provide the most current approved methods for treating trauma through the MARCH protocol, peppered with practical application of self defense (armed and unarmed), as well as other applications of common likelihoods one could expect to face in a given scenario (which are situationally dependent- context is key). If you find yourself in the ā€œyou get what you pay forā€ mentality, give us a chance to prove to you that you should expect far more with PATE. Demand more; we want only to provide good training to even more good people.
