Lehigh Valley based Music Therapy Associates, LLC was established in 1990 by Director Kathy Purcell, MT-BC.

With over two dozen therapists on staff, Therapeutic Arts Group provides individual and group music and art therapy for individuals of all ages and abilities throughout Eastern PA and surrounding areas! After years of providing in-home services, MTA became the premier provider of music therapy services in the greater Lehigh Valley area, including Philadelphia, Kutztown, Reading, Poconos, and Western New Jersey. Recognizing the varied needs of the area clientele, MTA expanded in 2018 and created its sister branch Art Therapy Associates, and thus the Therapeutic Arts Group was born! Now with a growing body of board certified music therapists and art therapists, TAG is committed to finding the perfect client-therapist pairing in order ensure client comfort, time and location flexibility, as well as the best therapeutic outcome possible. The following services are offered to help our clients achieve their goals:

~Individual, small and large group music therapy and art therapy sessions
~Traditional and adapted music lessons on most instruments and voice
~Art skills instruction on a variety of styles and media
~Assessments and evaluations
~Co-treatment sessions with speech, occupational, and physical therapies
~Professional and support group in-services and presentations on creative therapy and its applications with various populations

Visit the Allentown Art Museum on Friday, June 20 (must pre-register!) for Field Trip Fridays. We love to support local artists and art! (Photo credit and information made available by Allentown Art Museum)

On the first and third Friday of each month from 12pm to 3 pm, The Allentown Art Museum offers a free program for homeschool, cyber school, and hybrid learners. During Field Trip Fridays, learners and their families can enjoy a free a la Carte Art tour in the galleries with Museum educators and experience artmaking in the Crayola Classroom. Each artmaking session will include a hands-on creative project inspired by an artwork from the Museum’s collections.

Music Therapy Associates, LLC was established in 1990 by Katherine M. Purcell, MT-BC. With 24 board certified music therapists and a music teacher, MTA provides families and organizations with the days, times and locations for our services that suit them best. Yes, we travel and provide services at your home or other community location as well as our Whitehall, PA studio! The goal of MTA is to use music to enrich the development of individuals of ALL ages and abilities.
