WAYA Baseball & Softball Equipment Guide (8U–14U + T-Ball)
Please review before purchasing equipment! 🥎⚾
👋 General Reminders
• Players must wear matching team jerseys with numbers and hats/visors (provided at registration or reuse prior year if approved).
• Pants are required (Both softball and baseball: black pants).
• Parents provide glove.
• Personal equipment is encouraged (do not share). Label everything.
• Coaches will have bats, helmets, and catcher’s gear available if needed.
🥎 SOFTBALL (8U–14U)
Required
• Infielders must wear a face mask
• Catchers: helmet, mask w/ ear protection, chest protector, shin guards
• Batters & runners: helmet with face shield
Cleats
• 14U – Metal allowed
• 8U/10U/12U – Metal NOT allowed
Jewelry
• 8U/10U/12U – No jewelry (studs must be taped)
• 14U – No jewelry on throwing arm
Pitchers (12U–14U)
• Sunglasses allowed (must be see-through)
• No sleeve on pitching arm unless dark colored
Bats (All 8U–14U)
• USA Softball (ASA) or USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp
• Max 34” length / 2¼” barrel
• No drop restriction
• No baseball bats
• Must not appear on banned list; no dents/cracks
⚾ BASEBALL (8U–14U)
Required
• Catchers: helmet, mask w/ ear protection, chest protector, shin guards
• Batters & runners: helmet

Bat Rules
• 14U – BBCOR, USA, or USSSA (max drop -8)
• 12U – USA & USSSA, 2¼”, 2⅝”, 2¾” barrels, no drop restriction
• 10U – USA & USSSA, 2¼”, 2⅝”, 2¾” barrels, no drop restriction, max 33”
• 8U – USA & USSSA stamped bats (2¼”, 2⅝”, 2¾”)
🧢 T-BALL
• Shirt provided (size selected at registration)
• Parents provide glove
• Closed-toe shoes required
• NO metal cleats
• Coaches provide bats & helmets (personal equipment allowed, labeled)
Bats
• USA-approved only
• 26” max
• 26” wood bats allowed
• Wood bats must have 10” non-slip grip
