Swamp coolers in homes for air conditioning are not common, but still used in warmer, drier climates like the southwest. They are prone to contributing to mold problems in homes as well as contributing to bacteria growth within the unit. This client in California ended up with extensive mold growth due to a swamp cooler system.

Our client's home. Thank you to for helping us locate a source to fiberglass in our client's home. The internal lining in the supply plenum in the attic system is severely deteriorating. This was sending fiberglass fibers directly into the living space. We are having an hvac guy come to replace the plenum. Pics are of the inside of the ductwork (supply plenum). Hopefully they will all be feeling better after this cleaned up.

Here is one for you!

We love uncovering these special finds. Feel free to comment on this one. We were brought in on this project because of mold and water damage. The water damage was thought to be attributed to compromised stucco on the exterior, but we discovered something else. The occupants also over the years have often felt unwell in the home.
