I’m so excited to start offering a new herb next year….NEXT YEAR! I hope everyone caught that! 😂😂😂. It’s a new one that I’ve only started growing this year but it spreads rapidly once established. I’m already seeing baby plants sent out by the rhizomes underground.
Oh how I love getting to know new plants ❤️🌱❤️
I wanted to give you a brief overview of this plant’s medicinal capabilities because so many people suffer with ailments that this plant will cover! By all means, seek out a reputable company that carries this herb if you need it before next year when we will have it available on the farm!!
My job isn’t just to provide you with herbs - it’s to educated you on what is out there to help! God created so many wonderful plants and it irritates me that we, as humans and as fellow inhabitants of this earth, know so little about these helpful plants!!!
So here we go - the humble Chameleon Plant!!
Botanical name: Houttuynia cordata
Practical uses: this is one of the Chinese herbs that clears heat, resolves toxicity, and reduces swelling.
Lung infections, especially if associated with profuse discharge, yield to the tincture or direct consumption.
Purulent sores may be treated by poulticing with the fresh, pulverized herb while taking the tincture or glycerite internally. The herb is a broad-spectrum antiviral and antibacterial, has the ability to disperse toxins, and may be found useful in treating urinary tract infections.
Mycoplasma (very tiny gram-positive bacteria responsible for a plethora of health woes and often associated with Lyme disease), herpes simplex, dengue virus, avian flu, Zika virus, West Nile virus and candidiasis.
A. Maz. Ing. I just love plants so much!! Enjoy the pictures of my 2 little plants that will most likely take over that entire planter next season 😂😂😂 The neighboring plants will have to be moved out!!
Note: the flower in the pic belongs to spilanthes, which this year is hogging the planter 😂
