Sadly I will not be selling seed garlic this year. My crop was overrun with weeds in this weird season and it affected the size of the garlic bulbs.

I will still have some extra culinary garlic (smaller sized bulbs used for cooking and fire cider, etc) and all of my crops are grown organically without chemicals of any kind. It will be done curing Oct 1st.

Until then, if you want to grow garlic, I highly recommend buying seed garlic from Mad River Garlic Growers. It’s organic garlic and they do a great job! Lots of varieties also! Any hardneck will do great in NW Ohio!!!

Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Apparently today was Sweet Annie Harvest Day #1. I say “ #1” because there will be maaaannnyyy Sweet Annie harvest days. She is a huge and beautiful plant, but she is a time consuming plant to process!!

She has big tall stalks with many branches but the leaf material that comes off of each branch is paltry. So there is hours and hours and hours of work involved. She is worth EVERY SECOND because she is good medicine!

So I enjoyed this gorgeous day while harvesting about 8 plants of Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua).

This coming week is a HUGE harvest week - everything is ready to be put away and now is the time! I will be tackling another elderberry harvest from my bushes, lots of Sweet Annie, Bidens, starting on goldenrod, lots of comfrey, more spilanthes and tulsi, artichoke leaves, fig leaves, and many more that I just can’t think of off the top of my head. Almost as busy a week as late October/early November when I start digging root crops!!!

Enjoy this gorgeous weather and get out and harvest some herbs 🌱❤️🌱

I’m so excited to start offering a new herb next year….NEXT YEAR! I hope everyone caught that! 😂😂😂. It’s a new one that I’ve only started growing this year but it spreads rapidly once established. I’m already seeing baby plants sent out by the rhizomes underground.

Oh how I love getting to know new plants ❤️🌱❤️

I wanted to give you a brief overview of this plant’s medicinal capabilities because so many people suffer with ailments that this plant will cover! By all means, seek out a reputable company that carries this herb if you need it before next year when we will have it available on the farm!!

My job isn’t just to provide you with herbs - it’s to educated you on what is out there to help! God created so many wonderful plants and it irritates me that we, as humans and as fellow inhabitants of this earth, know so little about these helpful plants!!!

So here we go - the humble Chameleon Plant!!

Botanical name: Houttuynia cordata

Practical uses: this is one of the Chinese herbs that clears heat, resolves toxicity, and reduces swelling.

Lung infections, especially if associated with profuse discharge, yield to the tincture or direct consumption.

Purulent sores may be treated by poulticing with the fresh, pulverized herb while taking the tincture or glycerite internally. The herb is a broad-spectrum antiviral and antibacterial, has the ability to disperse toxins, and may be found useful in treating urinary tract infections.

Mycoplasma (very tiny gram-positive bacteria responsible for a plethora of health woes and often associated with Lyme disease), herpes simplex, dengue virus, avian flu, Zika virus, West Nile virus and candidiasis.

A. Maz. Ing. I just love plants so much!! Enjoy the pictures of my 2 little plants that will most likely take over that entire planter next season 😂😂😂 The neighboring plants will have to be moved out!!

Note: the flower in the pic belongs to spilanthes, which this year is hogging the planter 😂

Little informal survey….how many of you have an air fryer and use it a lot? I have avoided them bc of what most of them are made of - lots of plastic - but a new one has come along that is supposed to be toxin free, all stainless steel and ceramic coated trays. I’m considering.

I would like to do easy, healthy meat and veggy meals in it. I would also like to do roasted nuts and such.

So please comment below on these questions:

1- do you have an air fryer? Do you have THIS brand of air fryer?

2- how often do you use it? 1x, 3x, more per week?

3- what do you use it for most? Describe your fav air fryer meals or dishes….

Thank you!! 😘

Ps: I currently have a very old toaster oven that we use to heat up leftovers. Haven’t had a microwave in 20 years. My regular gas oven SUCKS! Burns things on one shelf and underbakes on the other. And it’s just 3 of us here in the house…..all these things factor into my decision.

Bees falling asleep in flowers is the most precious thing! I woke the one up by bumping the flower too much with my camera. But they were both fast asleep before that! 😂😂😂

My Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) which I grew at the fence of my veggie garden this year, is the tallest it’s ever been on my property. I cannot touch the top! I am estimating 8-9 feet tall!! And I think I planted about 2 dozen plants this year.

I think I will have enough Annie this year for ALL THE THINGS!!! ❤️🌱❤️ Praise the Lord!!

Talking to a customer/friend on the phone for an hour while making my elderberry tincture from my harvest yesterday.

These are some of my elderberries (the bulk of my bushes aren’t ripe yet) but also some from my friend Mindy. Love fresh elderberries!

After destemming them yesterday, I put them on trays in my dehydrator for 6 hours at 125 degrees to “cook” them and then I tinctured them this morning while on the phone 😂😂😂

Get your Immunity Blend (elderberry, tulsi and echinacea angustifolia) now to keep your immune system strong for the coming yuck season!!!

For those who don’t have access to fresh elderberries but want to make syrup, my friend Mindy has bags of already destemmed fresh berries for $15 a pound. She is located in Neapolis. No chemicals on her property!!!

Message me if interested and I’ll put you in touch with her!

The spilanthes is luscious, to use a good descriptive word!!! If anyone local wants some organically grown, very potent spilanthes, it’s $15 for a quart sized bag stuffed full! Message me to schedule your stop by for fresh plant.

Spilanthes is easy to dry, and all aerial parts (leaves, flowers, buds and stems) can be dried for tea or made into tincture. See my Product Listing post (link in first comment) for uses for this very versatile herb!

A hot season + chicken manure + regular watering = tons of spilanthes!!!!! All previous years of growing were dismal compared to this year!!!🌱❤️🌱

Buplereum has turned out to be one of my fav surprises this season. I have never been able to germinate it from Strictly Medicinal Seed, so I bought a plant this year from Crimsonsage Nursery.

It is so grassy looking that when I first got it, I thought she had sent me grass instead of the plant I ordered 😂😂😂

It turned out to be a beautiful, airy plant that thrived in one of my galvanized boxes and is now blooming! Since the medicinal part of the plant is the root, I intend to save seeds and scatter some also.

Enjoy the pics I took and please pray with me that I can get more plants to grow!! We need lots of roots to harvest! 🌱❤️🌱

Stoneroot Tincture and Spray are now available!

🌱Stoneroot is new to the farm as of last year ans we finally have a limited amount ready to use!!!🌱

This tough root is great for relief from varicose veins, spider veins and hemorrhoids. It can be taken internally and topically at the same time, as both are useful when you are suffering. Taken internally over time, it acts as a tonic to tone the veins that give you trouble 🥰
