❄️ Storm Update from CCECA ❄️
Power restoration has been steady across our system. Cherokee County Electric Cooperative Association (CCECA) currently has several meters without power, with system load around 100 MW.
Ice began accumulating around daylight today, causing outages mainly from ice buildup on power lines and trees. Most damage is concentrated in central Cherokee County, though we serve members in Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Rusk, and Smith counties.
✔️ All substations remain energized
✔️ No major damage to distribution facilities at this time
Our crews are restoring power about as fast as new outages occur and will continue working through the night and around the clock until all members are restored. Crews are also closely monitoring weather conditions and assessing any additional damage.
⚠️ More harsh weather is expected. Please stay weather-aware, be safe, and make alternate arrangements if necessary.
Thank you for your patience and support as our linemen continue working in challenging conditions. 💙⚡
