The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on Jan 30, 2026. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. If you have a medical emergency, call 911. For information about TRICARE coverage during the lapse in appropriations period, visit www.tricare.mil/shutdown.

Continuity of health care remains our highest priority. The 509th Medical Group remains open, including scheduled appointments and pharmacy services. MEDICAL NOTICE TO AIRMEN: Due to inclement weather conditions, the installation commander has authorized delayed reporting for the 509th Medical Group. As such, all scheduled appointments on January 26, 2026 before 11:30 AM, including walk-in and prescription pickup services, are canceled. Any scheduled appointments that are canceled will be rescheduled once normal clinic operations resume.

Patients with an appointment in the Mental Health Clinic will have the option to be seen virtually. You will receive a call prior to the appointment to either reschedule or be seen virtually. Clinic operations are expected to return to normal at 11:30 AM on January 26, 2026, however, we advise all patients to continue to check our page and main appointment line (660) 687-2188 for the latest information. Patients who do not wish to wait on the clinic to contact them to reschedule may visit www.patientportal.mhsgenesis.health.mil to reschedule their appointments. For urgent care needs that arise during clinic closure, please contact the TRICARE Nurse Advice Line at (800) 874-2273 for care coordination. For emergencies, please call 911 or report to the nearest emergency department.

For acute urgent care, please call the Nurse Advice Line (NAL) via the Appointment Line at 660-687-2188 or directly at 800-TRICARE (874-2273), option 1, to speak with a registered nurse who can:
• Answer your urgent care questions
• Give you health care advice
• Help you find a doctor
• Schedule next-day appointments at military hospitals and clinics
• Provide referrals for urgent care (active duty only - family members and retirees do not require a referral)
If you experience a medical emergency during this time, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency room.

Seasons Greetings Team Whiteman!

The 509th Medical Group will be closed on December 24 and 25, 2025. However, we will operate as a virtual clinic on from 0730-1200 on December 26, 2025. Medical appointments will be delivered via telehealth. Appointments may be booked by the appointment line before 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 2025, or via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal (https://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil/pages/home) on or before December 26, 2025. Please text our Pharmacy Team at 877-200-6516 for any urgent medication needs. While the Pharmacy is closed, they will be available virtually for any urgent prescription needs until 1000 on December 26, 2025. All other ancillary services, including laboratory and radiology services, will be closed.
