An outstanding horseman, farrier and general good human being. Check her out if you need a great farrier or trainer.
Excited to share my new logo. What many people here do not know about me is that I’ve been shoeing horses since 2000. What started out as a necessity, because I couldn’t find anyone to turn up regularly enough for my rodeo horses. The craft then became a source of intrigue and pursuit of knowledge. I attended a shoeing clinic with a renowned Australian farrier who used to travel to remote Cattle Stations to teach the stockman shoeing skills. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but in my mind I was taking pro-active steps in my own horse husbandry. Once I got a taste of self sufficiency in that area of ownership, it lit another fire. I very quickly learnt that there’s far more to the craft than just “slapping steel on”. It provided me a never ending need for education, which for me where I lived, practice became my education. I wasn’t content with just the shoeing aspect, I wanted to be able to help horses travel more efficiently and be more comfortable. Healthy hooves have a huge impact on the health of the whole animal, the pursuit of that has become a lifelong goal.
For the last 22 years, alongside my husband I’ve been a Farrier, operating our business in Australia while also running a horse training business, gave me such a great cross section of breeds, disciplines and different conformations to work with. I’ve had the privilege to attend clinics and conferences with leaders in the Veterinary and Shoeing sectors in Australia, as well as working alongside Veterinarians on many complex cases. I’ve been blessed to compete in Farrier competitions throughout Australia, and been successful competing as the only woman in competition at that time.
For 22 years Red and I have shared a business name and logo. Individually we have brought special skill sets to customers and horses alike. We’ve had the privilege of rehabilitating countless horses and had involvement in thousands of horses lives. Two sets of eyes, two perspectives, along with, collectively decades of hands on experience at play! As a collaboration we are a force, that won’t change, as there are still multiple cases we work on together.
We have particular niche areas, specific to our skill set, experience and passions.
I will be continuing to work at Innovative Equine Podiatry and Veterinary Services for Dr Sammy and Kellee Pittman, while having the flexibility to expand my own business.
I look forward to welcoming new customers to my schedule.
