The power of pelvic floor physical therapy WHILE pregnant, ladies!!! 💕✨🤰🏼

Did you know that participating in pelvic floor physical therapy while pregnant can reduce your risk of vaginal tearing or birth injury by 50%?

Why WOULDN’T you take advantage of those odds?

This particular patient sustained a 4th degree tear in her first vaginal delivery (that’s right from the front to the back, as about as bad as it can get, ladies), which resulted in pelvic floor pain and dysfunction (bladder and bowel issues, painful intercourse, etc.). She was very nervous for a second attempt at vaginal delivery. But, this weekend, she did AMAZING and barely tore at all!

I work with women at all phases of pregnancy, right from the first trimester up to weeks before delivery in order to make their pregnancy and delivery as easy as possible!

You’ll learn techniques to maintain and improve core and pelvic floor strength to limit pain and pelvic floor symptoms throughout pregnancy, was well as stretching, mobility, relaxation, massage, pushing techniques, and labor positions to have the most seamless birth experience possible.

Please share this with any of your pregnant friends! Message me for more details!

Hysterectomy? Maybe question your MD’s rehab advice…

60% of women post-hysterectomy will experience urinary incontinence at some point.

15% of women post-hysterectomy will need another surgery to correct pelvic organ prolapse within the next 10-20 years following that surgery.

14-18% of women post-hysterectomy experience urinary urgency or frequency.

Burnout among women is on the rise — but it's not just about being overworked. It's about being overwhelmed, under-supported, and constantly expected to do it all.

In this episode, host Dr. Andrea, PT, DPT and guest Andrea (an occupational therapist and owner of O'Brien Wellness) unpack the unique pressures that women face in both their personal and professional lives, from emotional labor and caregiving to workplace inequality and the myth of "having it all."

We’ll explore why burnout shows up differently in women, the role of societal expectations, and how perfectionism, people-pleasing, and lack of boundaries contribute to chronic exhaustion.

Together, they offer real talk, practical strategies, and a compassionate reminder: You are not alone, and your worth is not defined by your productivity.

Whether you’re a working mom, a caregiver, an entrepreneur, or someone quietly holding it all together — this episode is for you, and we hope you enjoy.

ACOG reaffirms the safety and benefits of acetaminophen use during pregnancy.
More than two decades of research have found no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability in children. Acetaminophen continues to be an important and safe option for managing pain and fever in pregnancy—conditions that can pose serious risks to pregnant patients and their fetuses if left untreated. In this episode, Andrea takes a journey through the history of women in the workforce — from the war-time factories of the 1940s to the corporate boardrooms and remote offices of today. How have women’s roles in work evolved, and why does the pressure to “do it all” still weigh so heavily?

We explore the societal expectations that have shaped women’s labor for generations, the cultural myths of work-life balance, and the very real structural challenges women continue to face — from caregiving burdens to inflexible workplaces. Andrea examines how far we’ve come, what’s still holding women back, and what true balance might look like.
