A few years ago I sat in a cold, weird, lonely but PACKED infusion center with my then 6 year old Cambria for her chemo treatment. Our "new normal" was something I will NEVER wish on my worst enemy. All I wanted that day was to find a way to create peace for people who were hurting and scared like every single person in that room that day. Luckily my husband was able to take off work and stay home with our tiny infant... of all days. About 5ish minutes in to her second chemo drug for the day, my WORST fear came true. I will spare most of the hairy details for now but let's just say when your kid has a reaction to the only thing the doctors tell you will "help" her, you just break. That day I decided I was done not listening to that inner voice that told me "this CAN'T be the ONLY way!" and I still believe it. I continued my research on neurofibromitosis like I had been for 2 years (really since she was 9 months but who's keeping score here) but now I was on the hunt for an alternative to what we had been suggested. I had no idea where to start.. I had no idea what I was looking for... so I started with a "Family Herbalist" course. It was perfect timing that the herbalist I started taking my sweet girl to was getting ready to start having classes at her shop!!! This woman helped me to learn how to make many different recipes and remedies and to question so much that I didn't believe or understand. From there I gained quite a collection of books, herbs, oils, stones and HOLY CRAP so much more.... Yippie Hippie Tx soon became way more than selling paintings to raise money for art supplies for the infusion center. I began to put some of what I had aquired to good use and started out infusing a mixture of herbs in a crock pot with MCT oil. I was AMAZED when it worked!!! I won't claim that my products will CURE anything but I am pretty excited that my products continue to help so many people!! It really is a good feeling when someone hits you up for a product because they have tried and feel like it might help their loved one. Cambria has developed quite the interest in my "witchy stuff" and I couldn't be more proud. I am so very excited to have her by my side to learn with me.
