5 possible causes of PRIMARY lymphedema

🚩Absence of lymph nodes (lymph node agnesia)
🚩Absence of lymph vessels (aplasia, usually only in individual parts of the body)
🚩Lymph vessels are too narrow or missing (hypoplasia)
🚩Enlarged vessel walls (hyperplasia)
🚩Hardening of the lymph nodes (lymph node fibrosis)

Primary lymphedema is congenital, with lymphatic vessels or lymph nodes usually not developing properly or being malformed. The symptoms can occur immediately after birth or at a later date.
