The past four days I was in Arizona with my company, Monarchy Pre Planning, teaching families about the importance of pre-planning. We hosted both a lunch seminar and a dinner seminar and were able to set 20 appointments.

I truly love speaking with families, answering their questions, and helping them feel more prepared. The number one question I always get is, “How much will this cost me?” I let my clients know that when they schedule an appointment with me, they’ll receive a full pre-planning guide that breaks down exactly what they need to do and what things may cost.

There’s something truly special about sitting down over a great meal and having meaningful conversations that matter ❤️

Lately seminar season has been in full swing for me and I just have to say WOW. My lunch and dinner seminars have been such a success. Not only are my guests enjoying an amazing meal but they are also receiving real and valuable information about pre planning and the conversations we have been having have been incredible.

Every seminar brings thoughtful questions and what I love most is how one question often sparks another. Before you know it the entire room is engaged learning and supporting each other through topics that most people do not talk about but absolutely should.

There’s something powerful that happens when you bring people together over a simple meal and open up a real conversation.

Our recent lunch and dinner seminars were more than just presentations… they were moments of connection, education, and peace of mind.

When a loved one passes, families are faced with many decisions. One of the most meaningful, yet often overlooked, is whether to have a viewing.

A viewing is not just about seeing someone one last time. It is about acknowledging a life. It gives family and friends a moment to pause, to gather, and to begin processing what has happened. In today’s fast-moving world, we rarely give ourselves permission to slow down and truly say goodbye.

There is something deeply human about being present. To hold a hand, to share stories, to sit in silence together. A viewing creates that space. It helps make the loss real in a gentle way, allowing hearts to begin healing.

For many families, it also brings comfort. Seeing their loved one at peace can replace the difficult memories of illness or hardship. It becomes a final image they carry forward, one rooted in love rather than pain.

Families today are making different choices when it comes to honoring their loved ones and those choices are being guided by both the heart and the reality of cost.

More and more families are choosing cremation over traditional burial. Not just because it is more affordable, but because it offers flexibility and control during a very emotional time. Instead of feeling rushed into a graveside service, families are taking time to gather in ways that feel meaningful to them. Some choose a celebration of life weeks or even months later. Others find comfort in keeping their loved one close, rather than visiting a cemetery.

There is a shift happening. Families want connection, simplicity, and the ability to grieve in their own way.

This is also why I chose cremation for myself.

I wanted to make things easier for my family. I did not want them burdened with last minute decisions or unexpected expenses. Preplanning gave me peace of mind knowing everything is handled and my family can focus on what truly matters being together.

Cremation is not about doing less. It is about doing what feels right for your family.

A Little Valentine’s Day History + Why Preplanning Matters

Valentine’s Day dates all the way back to ancient Rome. It’s believed to be named after Saint Valentine, a priest who secretly performed marriages for couples when it was forbidden. Over time, February 14th became a day to celebrate love, devotion, and commitment. By the 1700s and 1800s, people were exchanging handwritten love notes, and today it’s a day filled with cards, flowers, and meaningful gestures.

But here’s the thing. Love isn’t just about the moment. It’s about preparation, intention, and making sure the people we care about are taken care of no matter what.

That’s where preplanning comes in.
