WARNING: Long post ahead, but itβs worth the read!
When it comes to getting healthy and fit, most people want to lose weight and firm up. My journey, however, started on the other end of the spectrum. I was anorexic from ages 23 to 36. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2002 that often results from stress and malnutrition. My adult low at 27 years old was 108, and Iβm 5β7β!!! I was told that year I would most likely be in a wheelchair by 40 because of the severe damage my body was doing to itself in my feet, yet I continued to struggle for 9 more years. What saved me from myself was a decision at 36 prompted by the photo below. I realized then that, although I thought limiting my caloric intake and burning more calories at the gym than I ate each day gave me some sense of control in my chaotic life, the truth was the disorder was controlling ME! I started lifting weights just before my 37th birthday, and I found a true sense of control as I learned how stress reduction, nutrition, and exercise can work together perfectly to not only give me the body Iβd only dreamed of but also to stop the multiple physical ailments that plagued me. My rheumatoid arthritis has been in remission, and Iβve been off all medications, for almost 7 years now!!! The scale no longer controls my life, and Iβm healthier physically, emotionally, and mentally than Iβve ever been! Thatβs why I have such a passion for helping others in this area. I can help you because Iβm the first person I helped DEFY THE ODDS through fitness! Let me help you do the same.πͺπΌπͺπΌ
