United Regional Health Care System Providing advanced technology, compassionate service, and excellence in health care for the communities we serve.

Though we are the region’s primary healthcare resource, United Regional Health Care System is more than a collection of a hospital and clinics — we are a trusted member of the community, promoting healthier, stronger residents. In addition to providing advanced technology, modern facilities, and expert team members, we’re delivering warm and compassionate care close to home. We also contribute significantly to the community by fostering partnerships, supporting local initiatives, and promoting healthy and thriving residents. United Regional is where our community finds support, strength, and a healthier future.

United Regional recently performed its 100th Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) procedure — a groundbreaking treatment for Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), the most common heart rhythm disorder.

Outside of DFW, United Regional is the only hospital in North Texas offering this FDA-approved technology — the first major advancement in decades for AFib treatment. PFA gives more patients, regardless of age, the option to treat AFib without relying on lifelong medications. We’re honored to lead the way in bringing this life-changing procedure to our community, ensuring convenient access to advanced specialty care close to home.

The Holiday Assistance Program is more than a tradition — it’s a reflection of our commitment to care for one another. Through shared compassion and generosity, we strive to make the holiday season brighter for our team and their families.

“The Holiday Assistance Program has been nothing short of a lifeline for me and my family. During the holiday season when the weight of the year is often felt the most, my co-workers stepped in with compassion and generosity. The Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gifts they provided did more than fill our table and brighten our tree; they reminded us that we are truly valued. To be employed by an organization that supports not only its staff, but also our families, is a blessing I do not take for granted. United Regional's culture of generosity and kindness has touched our lives in a way we will never forget.” — Anonymous Recipient.

Stories like this remind us why our culture of kindness matters.

United Regional staff visited all eight Wichita Falls Fire Department (WFFD) stations across the city to deliver thank-you gift baskets — our way of expressing gratitude for the compassionate care firefighters provide to patients and for their ongoing partnership in fall prevention outreach.

Recently, WWFD crews went above and beyond to help a local resident at high risk for repeated falls, ensuring she received the medical care she needed. Their quick action — paired with the fall-prevention efforts shared between United Regional, WFFD, and the North Texas Regional Advisory Council (NTRAC) — demonstrates the power of working together to support our most vulnerable community members.

Through this collaborative initiative, community awareness of fall risks continues to grow, helping reduce preventable injuries and improving safety for older adults across our region.
We are grateful for the firefighters who show up every day with compassion and dedication. Thank you, WFFD, for your continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

If you are interested in having a fall prevention event, please contact Laura Pressler, Injury Prevention Outreach Coordinator, at lpressler@unitedregional.org or call (940)764-3088.

United Regional recently strengthened its High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) preparedness by training a specialized team of Emergency and Critical Care nurses and testing their readiness through a full-scale, unannounced drill in our Emergency Department. Conducted in partnership with representatives from Sheppard Air Force Base and members of our internal HCID team, the exercise simulated the arrival of a patient with a high consequence infectious disease. This real-time scenario provided a valuable opportunity to evaluate our response capabilities and strengthen our ability to protect public health.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Sheppard Air Force Base and everyone involved for making this drill a success.

Our Story

Driven by a passion for healing and an unwavering commitment to excellence, United Regional has touched the lives of the people of Wichita Falls and surrounding areas for nearly 100 years. For us, providing world-class medical care is more than a day's work. It's our life's work. United Regional provides the area's only comprehensive cardiac care facility, and its only Level II trauma center. Virtually every day, the United Regional Care Flight Helicopter can be seen bringing help and hope to those in need. But we don't stop there. At United Regional, we continually seek to further improve community health by investing in life-saving medical equipment, world-class physicians and state-of-the art facilities. To make sure our goals are consistently met, we've set forth five pillars of service: People, Service, Quality, Finance and Growth. By applying our energies to these pillars and making them integral to our culture, we're able to deliver excellence in health care for the communities we serve. Excellence which the people of Wichita Falls and the region deserve and can be proud. Because to us, you're not just a patient – you're our neighbor.
