TexMed, the annual Texas Medical Association, was held in Corpus Christi April 16-18. WCMS had 2 fabulous physicians receive high honors from the Lone Star Caucus (LSC) The LSC is part of TMA that includes ALL of the counties in Texas that does not include Bexar, Dallas, Harris, Tarrant or Travis counties.

T David Greer, MD (pictured on the right) received the Dr Juan Fitz Memorial Physician of the Year Award. This is given by the Lone Star Caucus (LSC) to a physician who is a member of the component medical society of the LSC and who exhibits selfless sacrifice to rural and underserved communities, clinical excellence and visionary Leadership! Dr Greer has been a Family Medicine physician in Henrietta since 1970. He retired from private practice in 2015, but continued on as an ER physician with Clay County Memorial Hospital.

Bruce L Palmer, MD (pictured on the left) was awarded the Lone Star Caucus Service Award which is given annually to a current member of the LSC who was instrumental in developing the Caucus or who has actively advanced the mission of the LSC. Dr Palmer has been co-chair of the LSC for the past 2 years. He continues to serve on the board.

A great WCMS physician.

Dr. Kimberley Bourne, Endocrinologist, is now licensed in Oklahoma and is offering telemedicine appointments for in-network patients. Long time WCMS member Dr Phil Hudkins, passed away Friday. Dr Hudkins joined WCMS in 1986 and retired in 2019. His services will be held Thursday , April 9 at Lunn’s Colonial at 10AM

Dr. Philip George Samuel Hudkins, 73, of Wichita Falls, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born September 17, 1952, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Edward Mason Sleighel and Nancy Isabel Howard Hudkins, the third of four children. Phil served others with

Wichita County Medical Society met on Sat, March 28, 2026 at the Delta Hotel for the bi-annual Installation of Officers and Distinguished Service Award Banquet.
2026, two very deserving and outstanding WCMS physicians were honored-Beth Sutton, MD and Louis Wilson, MD. These physicians are chosen for their contributions to medicine, to WCMS, and to their community.
