Happy anniversary to our Executive Director, Alisa Echols! 🥳
Since becoming CEO in 2010, Alisa’s dedication as Executive Director has transformed HOWF. She expanded our impact and reach, inspiring us all with her commitment and compassion.
Thanks to Alisa’s visionary leadership, Hospice of Wichita Falls became the region’s first nonprofit to win the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence, a testament to her commitment to integrity and excellence. In June 2011, we proudly opened the Elizabeth Prothro Homecare Administrative Wing and reached a daily patient census of 200 by that October. In 2014, we established the area’s first pediatric hospice care team, now serving patients up to age 21.
In October 2015, Alisa helped launch Palliative Care of North Texas, offering comfort to patients with serious illnesses not ready for hospice. We are proud to be the only nonprofit palliative care program in North Texas, thanks to her leadership.
Her leadership drove us to acquire the Sea Blue Swim Club in August 2015, paving the way for a 24-bed inpatient care center. The Building on a Legacy of Care campaign raised $15 million in 15 months, funding our inpatient center, Dillard Family Meeting Center, and Fain Foundation Grief Support Center. We celebrated the opening of the Philbin-Prothro Inpatient Care Center in October 2023.
We are grateful for Alisa’s extraordinary guidance. With her leadership, we look forward to a future filled with hope and possibility as we continue our mission: providing Care, Hope, and Support for All. 💜
