We had such an amazing week! ✨️
Here is the finale to our Autism Awareness Month spirit week.

Self-Advocacy Wednesday: Self-advocacy means understanding and being able to communicate what you need and how you feel. When we respect when individuals say “Stop”, “No”, “I need a break”, or even non-verbal signals like pushing something away or turning the other way, we are honoring their autonomy. 💙

Regulation Thursday: Self stimulatory behaviors or “stimming” are repetitive movements or sounds that are used as a way to process and regulate emotions or energy. This could include jumping, spinning, humming, singing, hair twirling, nail biting, clapping, or even screaming. 😌

Flourishing Friday: Every brain develops at their own pace. Just like flowers in a garden, no two minds bloom in the same way, or on the same schedule. Everyday we get to watch many young minds as they develop and flourish. 🌱

Huge shout out to everyone who participated, clients and staff alike!
Everyone made this spirit week fun and engaging! 💛

We have had such a great turn out for our first two Autism Awesome Spirit Week days! 🙌

Pattern Recognition Monday: Many autistic individuals utilize the “bottom up” cognitive processing style, in which they perceive, gather, and analyze tiny details and/or sensory data that the others might miss.

Terrific Connection Tuesday: Communication isn’t just about speaking, it’s about connection. Whether it’s through sign, AAC devices, gestures, vocalizations, shared activities, or shared interests, every way of communicating is valid.

We wanted to pass along information about a "social club" opportunity for teenagers in our community. Onward is hosting the first "meet and greet" but is not actually associated with the club. It is a fine line between wanting to be supportive of something we think will be beneficial to our clients and not wanting the community to feel this is in any way, a marketing tool for our clinic. If you pass this flyer along to others you know who might be interested, please feel free to reiterate to them that Onward is simply opening our doors and trying to help a local program get up and running and arec not in any way trying to acquire more clients, or press ABA servives upon anyone.

We wanted to take a moment to share some highlights from our Staff Development!
After a productive Thursday dedicated to improving our clinical skills, the leadership worked hard behind the scenes, setting up an Easter Egg Hunt for the staff.

At Onward, we know that providing the best care for our clients starts with supporting our staff. A little friendly competition and a lot of laughs go a long way in building the community we love.

Happy Easter Everyone! 🐰
We wanted to showcase our Easter Egg Hunt that we had at the clinic on Thursday for our amazing clients and their families.

It was so much more than just finding eggs—it was about practicing social skills, sharing moments of joy, and celebrating the incredible progress our clients make every day.
A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us and made this event so special.

And of course we rewarded our staff with Chips and Dip before they "dipped out" for the weekend.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe Easter Sunday! ❤️

Today is World Autism Awareness Day, the start of Autism Awareness Month! This month is dedicated to increasing understanding, fostering acceptance, and celebrating neurodiversity.

At Onward, we are honored to work alongside individuals, and the families of individuals, on the spectrum every day. Our mission goes beyond clinical support; we strive to create systems where every individual has the tools to thrive, the space to be heard, and the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life.

At its core, the movement for Autism Awareness and Acceptance is a human rights movement. It emphasizes the right of every individual to have agency over their own life, to be treated with dignity, and to be valued for their inherent worth as a human being. Having exposure to diverse ways of thinking fosters greater empathy, more creative problem-solving, and a more inclusive social landscape.

Our commitment to supporting individuals on the spectrum does not end when April turns to May. It is a lifelong pledge to support autonomy and dignity at every age.
Thank you for walking this path with us and for helping us foster a more inclusive world.

Happy April Fools' Day!
No jokes here—just a lot of laughs! 😂
From "taped off" work spaces, "Brown Es" for their family, "skeleton crew", silly phrases on the paper towels, re-arranged office furniture, hidden bears, everything bagel "crumbl cookie" and everything in between....
Our staff and clients had a blast celebrating April Fools' Day with some harmless pranks and plenty of smiles. ✨
