Hear ye! Hear ye! We are looking for a few parents of children with "diffabilities"- direct quote from a former client about how his abilities were just different than other people's- who would be willing to engage in a Q&A session with our staff during staff development this Friday. Please feel free to share, definitely does not have to be a participant at our clinic. Trying to find a few parents who might be at different stages of navigating the special needs world. Have you been considering learning more about ABA therapy but have been worried about long waiting lists? We currently have openings for morning sessions! There are some limitations as to insurance payors we are able to accept at the moment based on the credentialing of available supervisors. Unfortunately, because we are in a transition period, we are not currently accepting new Texas Medicaid clients. Hey Families! We're looking to have a little fun in the sun in June. To kick things off, we want to participate with our families at Castaway Cove's Special Needs Day on June 4 from 9am-11am. Families are invited back to the clinic for a hotdog cookout and an opportunity for families to mingle picnic-style. Annnd every Wednesday after that will be Water Wednesday! More details to follow via email.

"Sensory sensitivities are common in individuals with autism, impacting how they process and react to sensory information. Some may be overly sensitive to certain stimuli, while others may be under-sensitive. These sensitivities can cause discomfort or distress, and strategies can be implemented to help manage them." -The Goog

One of the activities found to cause sensory distress for our clients is getting a hair cut. We have programs we use to build tolerance for things found to be uncomfortable. Clippers are a source of stress and we work on helping our clients build skills to help them feel at ease with their use.
